I work in software for 20+ years. I'm a pragmatic builder who is focused on bringing value and shipping to users. My core areas of expertise are Python/Django, SQL, Kubernetes, Linux, and IoT. I'm a generalist who enjoys a wide breadth of tech, from performance optimization of gnarly SQL queries, to spinning up bare metal K8s clusters.

In the past I co-founded two startups, I believe it helps me better understand the business side of development, how to identify value, how to measure and optimize for ROI, what makes a good hire (and how to be one), what are the true costs of rewrites, unit economics, and many other things.

Please drop me a message if you're interested!

    Summary:
Within over 14+ years of my professional experience, I have seen systems and processes of all sizes and complexity. And I never felt out of place in any of those situations. My experience, attitude and ability to solve problems always helped me to build solutions which align with business goals and achieve success and results. My ability to get on-boarded on to newer domains and businesses, and become a valuable asset, is one of my key aspects of a successful professional journey.

On the technical side, I have worked with all sorts of technologies, programming languages (Java, Python, Kotlin, Javascript and more), clouds (AWS, Google, Azure), Datastores(Postgres, MySQL, Redis, Hadoop, Hive, Databricks, MongoDB), Web(Node.js, React), CI/CD, Data Science, Machine Learning, GenerativeAI, Bash scripting, and more. The variety of technological exposure allows me to build scalable software architectures that not only add value to business processes, but are also loved by people who work with these architectures.

Lastly, I am always curious and eager to learn and find ways to contribute. I never feel shy of any work or support that is needed off me. I ensure I am able to support myself to the best of my knowledge and abilities.

I have greatly enjoyed my time working as a software engineer, solving puzzles to debug code, building scalable and streamlined applications, designing beautiful and dynamic user experiences, and working with wonderful teams of people who share my passion. I have, as an individual and in small groups, made significant contributions to design, build, test, and maintain features and applications trafficked by millions of daily users. With an expertise in frontend tech stacks, a robust toolbelt of front and backend technologies, and drive to learn more about my craft, I have built full scale web applications with unique, custom-built APIs, specialized hooks, and dynamic user experiences. I love the challenge of finding the perfect solution for a new feature or bug fix, and working with a passionate team that ford towards a common goal. I will bring enthusiasm and vigor to my new team, and work to ensure the best features and operational excellence possible for the users I support.
