Portchain | ShipTech | www.portchain.com | Sr. DevOps Engineer | Remote, Europe only +/- 2hrs from CET (HQ: Copenhagen) | Full time only |

Did you know that 90%+ of all goods globally are transported through a container, and the largest container vessels are 400 meters long and can transport 24,000 containers at a time?

The container shipping industry is the back-bone and enabler of global trade, but at its core the industry is fundamentally inefficient: 50% of all container vessels globally are delayed coming into port by more than 12 hours, 4.2% of a ships sailing time is waiting outside of the port, and key planning processes are done manually on a global scale. This leads to high operational costs, lost revenue, and unnecessarily high greenhouse gas emissions

Portchain is a 4 year old Danish SaaS container shipping startup that help container carriers and terminals reduce operational complexity and optimize planning through A.I. decision support.

We are an international team of 26 people from 12 countries (half of which are remote) and serve a global customer base of some the largest companies in the industry.

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer (>=50% coding) with 5 years minimum of professional experience in deploying SaaS applications.

If interested, send your resume to jobs@portchain.com and apply to come aboard!

Plasmic | Product Designer, Software Engineer | Remote | Full Time

Plasmic (https://www.plasmic.app) is a new visual frontend builder / design tool that integrates with real-world production codebases.

We are an early-stage startup with a tiny but wonderful distributed team from Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Dropbox, MIT, Berkeley, including 3 ex-founders with exits and a couple of ICPC world finalists. We received outlier funding offers from a number of top VCs like NEA and investors in Figma/Framer.

PRODUCT DESIGNER ROLE

Our biggest focus is on our design challenges—we want to make frontend development as broadly accessible as possible. As such we are looking for a senior product designer to join as a member of the formative team. You would be directly shaping the product and its future direction.

Plasmic is a highly interactive tool where users can spend many hours per session. It has an expansive interaction surface area and many deep design challenges, from nitty-gritty interaction design questions like "How should selection work?" to high-level product decisions like "How should dynamic data work?" and "How should users design components in multiple states?"

The role is primarily focused on these conceptual design challenges. You can expect to spend less of your time on visual design and more on thinking through / writing up design docs, as well as making / playtesting prototypes. Background in coding is a plus but not a requirement.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE

Plasmic is a sprawling application with complex state and interactions, where users can spend hours per session. We face many deep engineering challenges, such as:

- building a robust, performant, and feature-packed design tool on the web - deep integration with arbitrary codebases - enabling existing code components to be seamlessly used in the editor, including mining out examples of how to use them - optimizing for latency in all interactions, even when scaling to large projects - translating free-form vector graphics from tools like Figma/XD to web standards - handling dynamic data in the visual editor

We’re looking for one more generalist software engineer to join as a member of the formative team. You would be directly shaping the product and its future direction. You don’t need to be specialized in frontend; more important to us are software engineering foundations and experience.

If this sounds interesting, please get in touch at hiring+hn@plasmic.app. We would love to meet you!

We're looking to hire frontend, backend and full-stack engineers into our Vancouver and Berlin teams.

Our stack: Google Cloud Platform, Postgres, Python, modern Java, TypeScript, and React. We invest heavily in the growth and development of the team - you don't need to know these technologies upfront to succeed at Alloy.
