Although I was instructed to fix the errors, no additional guidance or specifications were provided. After I successfully corrected the issues and explained my methodology, I was informed that my efforts were deemed satisfactory. However, despite my efforts, my a…

I don’t understand. Passing one interview doesn’t guarantee a job offer?

This will not work I am afraid, as we are looking for people with concrete ideas and not so much experience or pedigree... we can teach languages, methodologies, etc, but we cannot teach ideas and that is what we are looking for... So please do not bother as it will not past trough our friendly HR AI...

To clarify, I'm asking about engineering positions, where it is mentioned that the domain (i.e. finance/trading?) knowledge is not required. So what ideas are you looking for? Thanks!

Any idea that shows passion about the project will do… when you are looking into this, what is that you like, what is that you do not like and want to change? maybe better website design, maybe a new API, maybe an integration with another project…

That's making an argument about hours worked?

> According to a detailed “time diary” dataset that measures work wherever and whenever it takes place, government employees work around three fewer hours per week and roughly one less month per year than private-sector workers. Substantial differences in work time persist even after controlling for occupational and skill differences between sectors.

https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/0275074003258823 would suggest the effort is on-par, which strikes me as reasonable. If you have good job security why butt-in-seat if you're done for the day? Might also suggest that private sector is inefficient at how it uses its labor, if working more hours and one more month per year gets similar results.
