Happy Scribe | Multiple Engineering Roles | Barcelona, Spain | Hybrid or On Site (can sponsor VISA)

With a team of just 17 people and no investor funding, we’ve built a transcription and subtitling product used and loved by 3.5M people, we’ve built one of the biggest Speech To Text datasets and we’ve been profitable from month 1 (currently €5M ARR). We've been leveraging our dataset to try and build the first Speech-To-Text algorithms that will surpass human accuracy. We are 100% bootstrapped and profitable, and immune from the funding shortages and layoffs that are impacting other companies.

We're hiring - A Growth Engineer to help us get from 800k to 2Million visits per month. - A Data Engineer to design, build and maintain our data pipeline - Backend Engineers or Machine Learning Engineers to help our ASR reach 100% accuracy - Product-focused Full Stack Engineers to help us scale our product

In the next year we want to hire 10 engineers; if you don't see anything that fits now, get in touch anyway. We want to learn about your career goals so we can reach out in the future.

This might be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to solve one of the fundamental AI challenges of this decade.

We offer visa sponsorship and relocation packages.

Here is a blog post from Pau, one of our Software Engineers, about his experience working here https://bit.ly/3y1R6bb

Compensation info

We are open to considering people from 2+ to 20+ years, which means it's a very wide bracket. We'd start from €50,000 but it could go up to €100,000+ for a very senior engineer. We also offer equity.

Earlier quoted context omitted.

I read it as they're not requiring citizenship, they're requiring clearance, which requires citizenship.

It wouldn't matter if they were requiring citizenship. The protected category is national origin. Companies can't normally require native-born citizenship but any company can refuse to hire non-citizens. Citizenship is a pretty common requirement in information security in sensitive industries, to use the example I'm familiar with.

Yeah, that makes sense. Who would deny a naturalized American all the rights and privileges? I don't know what people are getting upset about; I don't see anything that says "requires a native-born US citizen."

It says "US ONLY US Citizen," but that only excludes people who still swear allegiance to King Charles.
