Why not an index on created for speeding up the "new" sort? What indexes should you create? One for each sort you have? (I'm just playing around cloning Reddit and running into all sorts of performance problems. Mostly due to celery taking all my memory)

Yeah, these are the performance issue solutions. Based on the way open source databases work (clustered indexes), move your indexes to a table that has the sole purpose of indexing, and index everything you sort by index{search constants, then sorting columns, then id }. You can test with your workload, but I found that full covering indexes sat in ram better (so included the id even though not needed).

20yr ago MySQL didn’t have reverse index columns so we had to make (1-timestamp) cols and index those! Also used int for time as it was easier to index back then and you don’t need sub second or anything. Smaller indexes are better.

But, as someone once said: "I have made it my business to understand your business". A quote that I follow when I'm looking at companies that seem interesting.

So here we go: I can't quite figure out how your business work: Clients pay you so that you can provide them with data about various climate related events. But how do you collect those datapoints to feed your models? For example, do you have actual sensors in the field to measure the land suitability index https://gro-intelligence.com/applications/land-suitability-r..., do you have some sensor in the field, your do you aggregate data that you buy from the government or other sources?

Also, how exactly do you address climate change? It seems more like you are measuring climate change (and its impact) rather than addressing it directly.

Lastly, this post will serve to check whether you are actually engaged with this position and responsive or have just dropped it to farm CVs ;) (I do very much hope you are genuine about this, seeing that you also have posted on Hacker News in August)
