SimplePay | Ruby on Rails Developers | UTC+0 to UTC+8 | REMOTE | USD42k-USD60k

Did you know that developing business software doesn't have to be boring?

At SimplePay, we've brought craftsmanship to payroll software. We love solving thorny business problems with elegant code. That is why I started the company to begin with. This philosophy has brought us 16 000 clients and counting across South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong and Ireland.

Our development team was already mostly remote pre-pandemic.

To find out more about us, check our developer blog (https://tech.simplepay.cloud) or about page (https://www.simplepay.co.za/about)

Do you believe most SPAs are a pile of steaming crap, but wouldn't mind digging into Vue.js for pages that will benefit from the increased interactivity? Do you laugh when people give up the power of PostgreSQL in favour of data stores that don't offer any benefits for their use case? If so, you may fit in well with our mindset.

Experience: Due to our full pipeline, we can only hire developers who have a few years of Rails experience at this time, or highly experienced polyglots who at least know some Ruby. The work is mostly on the back-end, but some front-end skills are welcome.

Location: UTC+0 to UTC+8

Please mail developers+hn@simplepay.cloud to apply. Your resume / CV must be attached in PDF format. Start your email body with the following 2 headers:

Timezone: Your timezone here

PR/Issue: A link to a PR or issue you've logged for an open source project, no matter how small or long ago.

https://lightning.engineering/

Lightning Labs is hiring! We’re looking to expand our team to build technology that scales Bitcoin and blockchains. Our current focus is the development and deployment of the Lightning Network, an open blockchain scalability protocol. We push the edge of innovation with regard to blockchain scalability, privacy-preserving smart contracts, and cryptocurrency UX. If you’re interested in one of the positions below, please apply using our careers page: https://lightning.engineering/join-us. And if you know someone who might be a good fit, we'd very much appreciate any referrals.

{Lightning Infrastructure Engineer}:

We're looking for a systems-oriented engineer who will design and build out key components to support the growth of the Lightning Network. These tools will lower the barrier to entry for operating Lightning nodes and enable existing node operators to more effectively manage their infrastructure. You'll work on products such as Lightning Pool (https://lightning.engineering/pool/), as well as other Bitcoin-based backend systems to make Lightning more useable, and secure.

{Business Operations}:

This role will work directly with the VP of Business Operations in supporting the people management and business operations activities that help our team and company scale. This role will support the Business Development team with lead management and outreach efforts as needed. The ideal candidate has strong generalist skills, interest in bitcoin and Lightning, and a passion for helping businesses grow.

{Designer}:

Lightning Labs is looking for an ambitious designer with a passion for the bitcoin space. This role will be focused on developing the UX and visual design for Lightning Terminal and a series of upcoming products that will drive further Lightning Network adoption. The ideal candidate will be excited about the opportunity to build user experience strategies for new Lightning technologies. We're working with a highly engaged Lightning Network community and ecosystem, and are looking for someone who wants to be a part of building its future. This is a part time role, with the possibility of deeper engagement in the future.

Kalepa | Senior Backend and Full-Stack Engineers | New York, NY & Completely REMOTE| Full-time | VISA https://angel.co/company/kalepa

Software engineers at Kalepa are solving interesting and challenging problems at the intersection of data engineering, distributed systems and microservices, and machine learning. You will be working across the stack, building intuitive and performant microservices, robust data pipelines, beautiful frontend apps, and everything in between. You will be working with a small team of full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers working in a modern stack.
