SEEKING WORK | Remote | onsite San Francisco Bay Area |

Versatile back end code and infrastructure development services. Typical deliverables are Dockerized microservices specified by OpenAPI, written in Go, with a REST/JSON API and backed by PostgresDB or MySQL. Yes, this can include AI agents, and of course your custom business logic.

I can take your OpenAPI spec and implement it, or I can help you develop your back end infrastructure from the ground up. Basically I offer back-end componenets you can slot into your Kubernetes or Docker environment from day one.

On the business side, you get a fractional developer for a no-haggling fixed monthly rate, corp-to-corp billing, long term support for your code, careful vetting of dependencies for licensing and security, and a professional approach to your technical needs.

If you have more complex needs, e.g. project or team management please reach out as I have extensive career experience in all aspects of of technology development and management in startups and large enterprises.

SEEKING WORK | US | REMOTE

    Location: Oregon, USA.
    Remote: Only.
Technologies: AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, Git, Linux, Docker Python, etc. All the Stuff a modern SRE should do.
    Resume: Upon Request.
    Email: mike+jobs@garfias.org
I've been doing Sysadmin/DevOps/SRE (the names keep changing on me) since the mid 90s. I've worked for big companies and small startups (one was even acquired!). I've run ops departments and been a cog. These days I'd like to be some kind of lead, designing things, and helping my juniors implement it. I believe in incremental improvement, not the ONE BIG CHANGE that will fix our lives.

I'm looking for some PT AWS IaC work to help pay for the family's health insurance premiums while working for a body shop while looking for more permanent work.
