Hi! I'm Tristan, a recent graduate in C.S. from Sorbonne University in Paris but now based in the Washington D.C. area. Lately, I have been working on interactive 3D interfaces for music discovery with personalized recommendations using neural nets, pixel shaders for rendering weather forecasts, and real-time lidar processing and shading for augmented reality using a Kinect.

My projects are driven by intellectual curiosity, sometimes originating from conversations with my friends. I enjoy doing the research to achieve unique results. Here are some of my projects: http://tristancharpentier.com/projects.html

I'm Mark, I've over 20 years industry experience working with everyone from startups to household names to solo entrepreneurs. I live semi off-grid in my touring caravan, currently in South Wales.

I love coding, but also understand that soft skills are essential:

- Communication to help convert ideas from your head into something which can be coded

- Expectation management

- Rational prioritisation

- To raise issues when they become significant, not leave them to the last minute and cause panic

I prefer Linux but am comfortable with Windows/Android/MacOS/iOS. I maintain at least 1 working device for each of those OSes, so on multi-platform projects I can test on the real thing).

I'm into repairability and getting the most out of cheaper, lower-powered devices.

I'm looking for:

- Short-term, full-time projects

- Longer part-time commitments (eg 1-2 days a week, few hours a month on retainer)

- Open to other ideas!

I've been working on my own open source projects for a while and want to get back on a team.

Willing to relocate: Yes. Easy to get visa for US + Commonwealth countries (NZ, UK, Aus, etc)

I am a physicist with lots of software experience in many domains, including scientific computing, distributed systems, finance & trading, machine learning, and power grid infrastructure.

I maintain several free and open-source software packages: https://github.com/LaurentRDC

I have experience as a scientific software engineer at NASA's JPL, and quantitative research + software engineer at a proprietary trading firm. I have also tried starting my own startup in the cleantech space (https://powerweave.io/), which ultimately ran out of runway -- still a valuable experience!

I am interested in many things, including reconnecting with my Physics education -- ideally looking for a role which involves high-performance and/or scientific computing, physics, engineering, etc. Otherwise, climate technologies, national defense, and software correctness are also interesting. But really, I'm interested in being intellectually stimulated, so don't hesitate to reach out!
