I love working with people to move things from an existing condition to a preferred one. I'm currently hacking together a web application that will run on Google App Engine, drawing and thinking while working part-time at Milton Glaser's studio and Columbia University.

I'm looking to work with others who are happy doing what they do and have a sense of humor. Google or a good advertising, design and communications agency would be great, but happy to consider anything interesting!

Skills: Visual/graphic design & illustration, HTML/CSS, some JavaScript, Python/Django, Git/GitHub, Unix shell.

I'm a product-oriented UX researcher, PhD, favoring work with users (ethnographic-oriented methods such as job shadowing, contextual interviews). I can help you gather valuable and valid insight regarding your potential users and turn it into actionable requirements and improvements. If you want to make sure you're creating a product for real users and their real needs, I'd be very happy to help. Currently most of my job is front-end web development (8 years experience, currently working in a large-ish Angular application interacting with a M2M/IoT solution).

Background: I am a self-taught, full-stack developer who has built, designed, tested, and deployed several large-scale applications for hedge funds and investment banks. I always try to follow software development best practices and use the most powerful tools available. Since my educational background is in finance, I can easily translate business requirements into technical specifications, and have the knowledge and experience to take projects from an idea to a fully-functional system. On the side, I am currently experimenting with Go.

I'm looking to move to a company where technology is the primary profit driver. I want to work with a team of highly motivated individuals on challenging problems.
