Sourcetable | Designer/Developer (hybrid), Figma/React | Full Time | REMOTE (California, PDT)

Sourcetable is a networked spreadsheet that makes it easy to sync data, build models and collaborate without code. We handle the data warehouse, data pipelines (SaaS tools + DBs), and syncing so everything stays up to date.

We are thinking ahead to our next hire and looking for a hybrid designer/developer; person no.5 on our team. Likely start date would be in February.

You would be Sourcetable's first designer and responsible making data accessible to everyone. There are plenty of design challenges including an easy-to-use Joins GUI (it's the "easy" part that's hard), data documentation, collaboration, visualizations, business templates, general branding, and more!

When not engaged in creating designs, you will be required to implement them. This requires strong React.js skills, and modest backend experience including SQL, database and API work.

Note: to succeed in this role it is imperative that you are a hybrid designer/developer. We are a small team, and everybody has to wear many hats. Design discussions often extend to the database-schema level, so designers with programming experience will have an advantage here.

If you're interested in learning more, we'd love to meet you! Email eoin@sourcetable.com (co-founder / hiring manager).

p.s. Bonus points if you have been part of an early-stage or founding team. Please mention it in your email!

Copia Automation | San Francisco, Atlanta, NYC | Full-time or contract-to-hire | REMOTE | Apply to adam@copia.io

About Us:

Copia Automation is rebuilding a 50 year old, $50 billion plus industrial market from the ground up by rethinking the command and control layer and developer tools that powers process automation in almost every industrial vertical. Backed by some of the world’s most respected investors, we’re starting by creating a complete developer toolchain for industrial automation that will change how factories are built.

Why industrial automation?

Today, manufacturing is powered by an ecosystem of computerized systems and robotics known as industrial automation. The ecosystem is programmed with a unique graphical language that can’t utilize tools such as GitLab or GitHub. Controls engineers are left to work with physical storage devices, incompatible tools, and/or expensive half-baked solutions. In an industry where minutes can represent tens of thousands of dollars, full featured development tools are urgently needed.

You’ll be part of a team that enables engineers to realize their code through a collaborative and well-designed workflow and we’re looking for passionate individuals that will transform how everything is manufactured.

What You’ll be Building:

You’ll be building a devops platform that enables controls engineers to remotely manage, test and deploy code in industrial environments (think GitLab for automation).

Required Qualifications:

- 3+ years experience as a software engineer

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, HCI, Design, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in designing and implementing user interfaces (UIs)

- Experience with React, TypeScript, Golang

- Experience/Interest in manufacturing and hardware innovation

- Experience in industrial automation and Programmable Logic Controllers

Apply by emailing your resume to adam@copia.io. Even if you're not looking now, we would love to chat!
