About: I have worked in manufacturing for the last 16 years in roles ranging from Quality Assurance to Plant manager. I'm excited about visualization, automation and digitilization of various business processes. In my current job I've designed and built an Andon system and a bespoke MES system (including among other features an automatic optimal planning of operators to production lines) for the 400 person production plant I'm managing. I'm interested in opportunities that leverage my experience in both business processes and IT.Ask HN: Who wants to be hired? (October 2023)

I'm currently a PhD student working on my dissertation in trusted computing. I have published papers in high-performance computing, virtualization, and trusted computing, with a focus on operating systems and system software. I have written hypervisors for Intel x86, developed OS kernels for ARM and RISC-V at national labs, and written hardware drivers for our research kernels as well as Linux. Our research focuses on multi-kernel contexts and the advantages that pairing an alternative kernel with Linux can get us. Right now I'm working on my dissertation but am eager to pursue opportunities that would occur in the spring.

I have quit my job to pursue a dream of moving abroad to a major city, where I may learn tango while practicing one of my favorite languages, growing my skills and career in the process. Would be open to another back-end / full-stack position, or pivoting to something more research- or data-oriented.

I want to help create cool stuff. I'm looking for UI and UX positions, as well as junior web development work.
I'm really into usability, especially when it comes to designing app interfaces. I like making people's lives a little easier with the skills I have. I'm always thinking about how technology can be improved and how people interact with it.
User interface design is my passion and I can do some basic front-end web development. Plain old HTML and CSS are my tools of choice. I can hack together some JavaScript given enough time. By far the most impressive JavaScript I have cobbled together is for an open-source web app I built as a passion project, which can be seen here [1]. Please take a look at my portfolio [2] to see some of my favorite projects.
