Our software engineering team at HHMI’s Janelia Research Campus is hiring a research software engineer to develop web applications supporting our primary research areas in neuroscience and 4D cellular physiology. Janelia is an internally funded non-profit research campus, and our team provides shared software development services to the labs and projects. Some examples of web applications we have developed in the past include https://neuronbridge.janelia.org and https://neuprint.janelia.org. We favor modern approaches and frameworks like React and Next.js.

We have a beautiful campus in northern Virginia. New hires need to relocate to the area and be able to come to campus when needed, but the work from home policy is very flexible.

Compensation range is commensurate with experience:

Software Engineer III - $113-183K

Software Engineer IV - $131-214K
