#475We're a non-profit organization working to provide tooling for community health projects. Our team focuses on developing the Community Health Toolkit, a suite of open-source components, but primarily an offline-first web application.
Here’s a quick list of some of the exciting aspects of our work:
- An offline-first mobile-first web app. Many healthcare workers we serve may go multiple weeks without a network connection.
- Our software must be usable on underpowered hardware, which is common for those using it. Client-side performance improvements can make a significant impact.
- We provide a platform where locally-customizable apps are built with. Backwards compatibility is critical, as is careful thought for new capabilities.
The Software Developer on the Infrastructure team will work with teammates and help us support by engineering, managing, and maintaining our hosting platform and infrastructure, allowing secure and scalable hosting. They will also be central to the future development of our services, looking for continuous improvement to the platform and supporting the rollout of new features and releases to keep our partners and us at the cutting edge of what we do.
If that all sounds like fun stuff to you, please read the full job description and apply! https://medic.pinpointhq.com/en/postings/c218f0d9-5829-41de-...

#477Platform.sh is a unified, secure, enterprise-grade platform for building, running and scaling fleets of websites and applications.
We serve thousands of customers worldwide including The United Nations, The Financial Times, Adobe Commerce/Magento, Shopware, Orange, University of Missouri and The British Council.
We are among the momentum leaders in Cloud PaaS according to G2 https://www.g2.com/categories/cloud-platform-as-a-service-pa...
Recently, we have finished $140 million series D funding.
Here's how it works (get a free trial and go crazy):
Pick a template from https://github.com/platformsh-templates and customize it (add your assets, specify infra) as per https://docs.platform.sh/overview/structure.html
Then push to your Platform.sh repo, BOOM! magic happens and you have a working site that you can branch, test, customize, go-live. Dead simple, you don't need Kubernetes, just basic git knowledge.
Tech stack is LXC with some Python awesomeness, Puppet, Ceph and GlusterFS. Tooling is in Python and Go. Yep, we are multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, ...).
What I love:
• Great work-life balance (remote only company, you can work on a contract, but you also get PTO incl. your national holidays, parental leave)
• Lots of smart people from around the world
• Work on interesting stuff
• Company shares (discretionary)
• Good comp package, pick your HW, get reimbursed for trainings and other stuff

I've seen this with technical roles where you start in one job family and get promoted to another. E.g., Integration Analyst I....Integration Analyst IV -> Data Engineer I There's also cases like Medical Doctors where the start already requires meaningful education and training. Some titles/responsibilities aren't appropriate for someone with no experience but that doesn't make the people in those titles senior at th…
> There's also cases like Medical Doctors where the start already requires meaningful education and training. In this example, it's a bit different as in it is known across the industry.
Having worked for a number of years in both the private and public sectors, I can say that job titles and descriptions do not necessarily always align between the two. In other words, I understand what you're saying, and can empathize with your confusion.
If helpful, the job descriptions/classifications for all roles at the City of Minneapolis are available online:

I don't know that it will resolve the confusion entirely, but it may help to shed some light. Thank you again for the question!
