Overleaf (https://www.overleaf.com) | REMOTE (UK/EU/US/Canada) | Full-time | £35k–£60k | UX Designer

Overleaf builds modern collaborative authoring tools for scientists --- like Google Docs for Science. We have over seven million registered users from around the world. Our primary product is an online, real-time collaborative editor for papers, theses, technical reports and other documents written in the LaTeX markup language.

We are looking for an UX designer with a product-driven background and a keen interest in user research. You will help us improve Overleaf by discovering opportunities and pain-points through research and analytics, by crafting user experiences that help our users get their work done and by continuously assessing and iterating Overleaf.

Some reasons you'd enjoy working with us:

- We’re very much user-centric. We use mixed-methods research to inform our product decisions, assess our solutions and, in general, to keep in touch with our user base

- You will have autonomy whilst being part of a cross-functional team of product managers and developers, with whom you will work closely to bring your designs to life

- Working hours can be flexible to your needs. Our core hours are 2pm--5pm UK time. Applicants in the US, Canada and UK/EU are preferred.

- Remote is a first class citizen; even before the pandemic, all founders and employees worked remotely. When we can do so again, we'll get everyone together in London a few times a year for valuable face to face time.

Please see https://apply.workable.com/overleaf/j/4EBD7770B6/ for more information and how to apply.

Medic | Sr. Software Engineer | Full-time | Global/Remote | https://medic.org/

We're a non-profit organization working to provide tooling for community health projects. Our team focuses on development of the Community Health Toolkit, which is a suite of open source components, but primarily an offline-first web application.

Here’s a quick list of some of the interesting aspects of our work:

- An offline-first mobile-first webapp. A lot of healthcare workers we serve may go multiple weeks without a network connection.

- Our software needs to be usable on underpowered hardware, which is common for those using it. Client-side performance improvements can make a big impact.

- We provide a platform that locally-customizable apps are built with. Backwards compatibility is critical as is careful thought for new capabilities.

As for the technical parts, almost all development is done in JavaScript and TypeScript. We’re using Angular 10 on the client and node on the server with Pouch/CouchDB for data storage and syncing.

If that all sounds like fun stuff to you, please read the full job description and apply! https://medic.pinpointhq.com/en/jobs/10055

Flagsmith.

We are a remote-first team, looking to scale our Open Source Feature Flagging, Remote Config and A/B Testing product. With both SaaS and on-premise customers, we are investing into our globally distributed, low latency API and making it simple for customers to deploy on their own infrastructure via Kubernetes and OpenShift.

We are looking for a server-side engineer, who also enjoys working on dev-ops, infrastructure and orchestration, and can help build out our existing API and infrastructure.

We are a really small team right now, and this is our first technical hire outside of the founders, so it’s a great opportunity to be part of something that is looking to scale quickly!
