Skyway (https://skyway.cloud) | Full-Stack (or Backend) Engineer | ONSITE, San Francisco, CA | Full-time

Founded by myself and Corey Quinn of The Duckbill Group/Last Week in AWS, we're building a cloud cost management product based on our six years of experience consulting directly in the space for hundreds of clients.

We're looking for a full-stack or backend engineer to help us build the early product. There are three other engineers on the team already. We've got solid distribution via our existing clients, multiple design partners, and a clear roadmap.

Stack: AWS, ClickHouse, Python+Flask, React+Typescript.

Past experience working on cloud cost tools, whether at a vendor or internally, is a huge bonus. If not already in San Francisco, we'll help with relo. Email your resume to mike@skyway.cloud.

Unfortunately the latter, but welcome and please keep us in mind in about a year!

are you sure? didn't SpaceX recently get in trouble for making exactly that distinction? not suggesting that you should get in trouble but rather suggesting to double check if your situation is really different.

Thanks, we are familiar with (and were initially a bit concerned by) that SpaceX example. However their situation is slightly different.

They were able to hire Permanent Residents, but failed to mention in their ads that they could also hire a narrow subset of asylees and refugees who are considered US Persons despite not being Permanent Residents. (EDIT: I think the definition of "protected individual" at https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M... is the relevant one.)

Our jobs are in a different category that is limited to US citizens.

Update: as promised, we sent an initial email to everyone who had submitted to our Google Form up through approximately this afternoon. Unfortunately it looks like all newlines got stripped by the mass mailer we used, so it looks atrocious, and a few of you may have had your email systems flag it as spam; if you didn't get an email from me (James) just now, and had submitted, please reach out to hn-hiring@ptown.tech.

Meanwhile, others are still welcome to submit to the form, and we'll do another pass for new submissions in about a week.

I just want to say your careers page is amazing. It's an often neglected part of even the most creative websites, so it was so refreshing to see.

Thanks for the shoutout! Boring careers pages have long been a pet peeve of mine. We also work on anime image diffusion models, and it would be massive shame if our own careers page didn't highlight the results, haha.

Love what you are doing and as an anime fan I love your website. I would love to talk more with you about this role and what you are doing.

Does a 15 unity expert with 7 years tech director experience in companies like Zynga serve your needs?
