Group messaging startup with 6 developers and offices on three continents looking for Lead Android developer for full time position. Given the small size of our team, you will be a critical part of the company.

SMSgrupp is a free tool for group communication that works on all mobile phones, regardless of model or age. Increasingly, those message are being sent from smartphones, and your job will be to make sure that our messaging app competes with the very best in our niche of "offline communication". We are now rebuilding our apps from the very start and want you in from the beginning. You will be the one who leads this effort in close collaboration with our backend engineers, operations team, and designers.

The main quality we’d like to see in a candidate is simply the ability to ship solid code. And enjoy doing it. If you have apps in the Market, and a proven track record of delivering quality code on tight deadlines, that counts for more than any number of impressive degrees.

We look for: Solid knowledge of tools and language Strong understanding of software engineering principles and object-oriented concepts. Pride in writing simple and beautiful code. Product sensibility and understanding of interaction design. A sense of humor and a light heart.

    Front End Lead 
    Senior Engineer (Java / Groovy / Grails)

We are building our product team in NYC and hiring the nucleus of a growing team. For UI Engineering Lead, we are looking for an experienced engineer to own user interface development and help scale the team as we grow. The senior engineer will also be a core founding member of our tech team and will work on product and our APIs.

Our Tech Team

* We are committed to doing things the right way, using the best technology available, and we want talented engineers who can bring these ideas to the browser. * We started out as a Java shop, and are now adding other languages such as Groovy / Grails and others. * On the front end, we are moving to Single Page Apps and are considering Dart and TypeScript. You will help make some of these choices. * We are agile and continuously integrated. We want to be continuously deployed when we grow up, and also service-oriented. We use Puppet for our DevOps, TeamCity for Continuous Integration, Zabbix for monitoring, Solr for search, and many other technologies.

Our Product

We connect product and fulfillment data between online retailers and their vendors. The product has several APIs for integration, and two user interfaces, one for vendors, another for online retailers. Our professional services team is responsible for integrating product with high-volume clients. To give you a sense of scale, we are currently hosted on 20 servers in a premium data center and we are just getting started.
