Don't hire me if you need a conventional software engineer who just builds features off a product roadmap. Hire me to rapidly validate ideas and drive results through grassroots projects (tech and non-tech). I thrive in small, agile teams that build a vision to life. When there is no dedicated engineer, I streamline operations and teach teams innovative ways to work by leveraging my background as a programming teacher.

I'm a specialized generalist and voracious learner who solves problems at the intersection of people and technology. Whether it's helping friends achieve life goals or helping organizations tackle technical challenges.

Summary: I've got around 17 years of experience building products and leading teams. I've been in the trenches doing the scrappy MVP work and scaled things up to handle serious traffic - we're talking thousands of requests per second. I've been on both sides of that fence and know what it takes at each stage.

I met my current employer while working within the NESDev community, and we quickly realized we lived in the same state. One thing led to another after that. This feels like one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. That said, there's a surprisingly healthy market for "new retro software", or whatever we're calling new games made for 40+ year old consoles.

The expansion audio thing does indeed work on Famicom natively! For NES we plan to ship a small adapter to plug into the otherwise unused EXP port on the bottom of the frontloading console. A single resistor can bridge one of the cartridge pins to Audio Out, unlocking expansion audio for folks in the US. Works great!
