Location: Barcelona, Spain

Remote: Yes

Willing to relocate: No

Technologies: C, C++, Rust, Go, Linux internals, storage and block I/O, SPDK, io_uring, distributed systems, applied cryptography

Résumé/CV: https://github.com/mnaza

Email: andrey at 3ig dot dev

Senior systems engineer. Twenty years of C and C++, eight of production Rust, PhD in computer science.

I work close to the machine. Linux device drivers written from scratch, an SPDK bdev module for NVMe-oF, and block-level firmware for encrypted storage where power loss mid-write was the normal case and a partial write still had to leave something recoverable. I moved a production hot path from epoll to io_uring. Before that, a detection service in Rust handling millions of events per interval across fourteen regions, where throughput and availability were the whole job.

Recent public work, if you would rather read code than a CV:

- signalscreen-checker — Authenticode signature parsing in pure Rust, on crates.io. It documents two mistakes the obvious implementation makes. - pqc-embedded — what post-quantum secure boot costs in flash and RAM, measured on hardware rather than estimated. Includes two corrections against my own published conclusions. - A patch to scottlamb/retina, found by pointing an RTSP client at a camera that writes the same SSRC in two different bases.

Looking for senior, staff or principal systems work. Full-time or contract. I am hands-on and want to stay that way.

Im a pretty universal guy, love to learn. I worked in startup for a long time, wearing lots of hats some in writing code, some in optimizing the process, sometimes writing documentation and coaching QA's in writing tests. I'm looking for a full stack role to deepen my backend and system design skills further. Ideally in company that is not scared of AI.

SEEKING FREELANCE WORK | UX/UI & web design

I help startups with the UX/UI and web design of their products. This includes web apps, websites, landing pages, copywriting, and I can assist with frontend development where needed. My background of launching my own products and being a full stack developer helps me create practical designs that balance usability, aesthetics, development effort, and performance. I work to fixed price quotes for self-contained projects.

---

The best live example of my work is Checkbot (https://checkbot.io/), a browser extension that tests websites for SEO/speed/security problems. The entire project is my own work including coding the extension itself, UX/UI design, website design (the homepage is optimised to load in 0.7 seconds, 0.3MB data transferred), marketing, website copy, and website articles on web best practices.

I'm a generalist software engineer with 15+ years of experience of building tech products. I did lots of FrontEnd, Backend and DevOps work through out my career. From solution discovery to the release and deployment.

Last 11 years I was working at a startup which had great engineering culture and I got to wear lots and lots of hats.

Seasoned with remote work, I prefer to go the office often.

Self-taught full-stack engineer, 15 years in. I build features from architecture through production, front end to services to backend/database to the Docker/CI/cloud that runs it.

Recently: stood up an L2 chain on the ZKsync OS stack and ran it to live testnet, with a sequencer fix merged upstream, and worked on the multi-tenant platform behind an AI security product, including its integration surfaces. On my own time I am building sixi.sh, a social club for small local meetups, Laravel and an Expo app on Postgres and Cloudflare Workers. I also run Ticketeer, a support SaaS I built and operate solo for 4,200+ Discord communities.

Looking for startup work where I am close to the decisions. AI space preferred but not required. Open to full-time or part-time.
