Senior backend and systems engineer with 8 years of experience, drawn to database development and fintech. I have a thing for impossible causes and genuinely enjoy the "the critical system is on fire and the team is gone" scenario. My experience ranges from .NET (F# and C#) to Clojure/Datomic on financial systems, where I integrated with a dozen APIs including Xero, NetSuite, Sage, Intuit QuickBooks, Plaid, and Teller; on the side I do OCaml and C++ on open source. Lately I'm very interested in database development, with deep knowledge of and a real appetite for database internals, especially relational and newSQL. I like making things reproducible and building tools that make our lives less miserable.

TL;DR: vast knowledge of the fintech ecosystem and database internals and management.

8 years building and shipping backend systems and full-stack products, mostly solo or in small remote teams. I like owning things end to end, from infra to the API to the parts of the frontend that touch it.

Most recent project: myfinance.cc, a personal finance SaaS that parses M-Pesa and bank PDF statements. Transaction categorization runs on a Random Forest classifier (TF-IDF + temporal features, ~95% accuracy on live data); spend forecasting uses a per-user RF regressor with 31 engineered features; anomaly detection via Z-scores.

Also built watchdock.cc, an observability platform (error tracking with SHA-256 dedup, uptime/SSL monitoring, container health, an AI-generated daily ops summary posted to Slack). I also maintain a few async-first PyPI packages (kenyan-counties, daraja-sdk).

More projects and code on my site. Happy to talk about any of it.

I need visa sponsorship in the UK. I am Brazilian, based in Manchester, and currently working for a major gambling company. I want to move away from the gambling industry and am looking for a new challenge, as I no longer feel motivated.I am an easy-going person who loves reading and learning, and I can pick up any technology quickly. I have nearly 6+ years of experience. Backend/platform software engineer with 6 years of experience building regulated, high-reliability systems across payments, fraud prevention, compliance automation, data services and observability. Strong production background in C#/.NET, Python, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Hazelcast, Docker, cloud environments and OpenTelemetry. Experienced in designing robust APIs, distributed workflows, authentication/session architecture, performance-critical data access, monitoring and internal tooling. Comfortable working with data scientists, product teams and engineers to turn ambiguous, high-risk problems into production systems with measurable impact. If you live in Switzerland, you might like to know that many of the self-checkouts in the MIGROS chain were built by me (everything from the physical assembly to the hardware and software written in chaotic .NET COBOL).
