I've been programming for two decades and have a lot of experience in various technologies. Lately I've been doing various things related to networking, automation, and databases. Things like parsing SQLite databases to perform ETL into Erlang ETS tables, setting up secure networks for some Elixir projects, and some aggregation of data for easier exploration. I really enjoy all things computers and programming, and have a vast set of skills that are perfect for any task. Looking forward to hearing about interesting tech!Ask HN: Who wants to be hired? I can do anything I set my mind to, and have done enough things over the course of a career to justify that statement. I want to do great things for an innovative company, and want to work with teammates interested in the same thing. If you've got something interesting, I'd like to hear about it.Seeking a senior SWE position; I have some lead experience as a developer, but am also on the board of directors of a nonprofit, which indicates additional leadership experience.

I'm an American software engineer living in Tokyo with 5+ years of professional experience (plus an additional 15+ years of hobbyist experience!). I got my start in high school uploading Flash games to Newgrounds, and learned early on to love the work that I do.
I'm a strong believer in local-first, interoperable, configurable software. I'm seeking to work on a product built to empower users, not lock them in.
I'm particularly interested in working on: rich document editors, programming languages & developer tools, game dev & simulation.
Please visit the about page on my website to learn more about my past work!
