Reserve | Remote | Full-time | https://reserve.org | BitTorrent meets CashApp, backed by Sam Altman and Peter Thiel

We help our customers cope with hyperinflation, capital controls, and discrimination from the global banking system. Our current customers are in Venezuela, Argentina, and Colombia and we have plans for eventual global expansion.

Our long term goal is to offer an alternate currency that is essentially a modernization of commodity money – a cryptocurrency 100% backed by a basket of low-volatility real-world assets. This would provide an alternative to USD that is actually stable enough to use as money. (No, BTC is not the answer. No, algorithmic stablecoins are not the answer. If you disagree, this is not the project for you.)

We’re open to team members from anywhere, with preference for the Americas due to timezones. We only recruit engineers with this HN post, and we hire about one engineer per month right now.

- We are about to start recruiting a CSO and/or high-level security staff member. Contact us directly [contact at reserve.org] if you are interested and we haven't posted the job yet.

Intuitive Surgical | Senior/Software Engineer, Advanced Development | Onsite/Hybrid | $160k-$190k + Equity + Bonus | Sunnyvale, CA

Hi HN, we're looking for a high energy, talented individual to contribute broadly in the Advanced Development group at Intuitive. You'll primarily work with the group to design, develop, and integrate software that enables early-prototype surgical robotic platforms. Additionally, you'll contribute to a next-generation embedded framework and build system that will dramatically reduce development time for mechatronics systems. To meet these needs, you'll work on a variety of technologies from real-time embedded software, linux and QNX applications, to CI/Jenkins and Docker-based build systems.

Responsibilities

  - Design and develop product-focused, rock-solid, C++ software in a heterogeneous, multi-processor SoC/FPGA/real-time embedded environment.
  - Design & extend our existing real-time servo control infrastructure to support next-gen robotic configurations.
  - Define and implement the bare metal and application level embedded code to enable communications between the servo control system and the distal motor controller PCAs.
  - Work closely with robotic controls engineers to implement data flow and data management requirements.
  - Contribute to the development of a next-generation embedded framework and build system utilizing technologies such as Docker, Bazel, and Nix.
  - Distill software requirements from high level group goals, own and drive solutions to completion.
  - Create technical documents detailing software design and architecture.

BuzzSumo | Remote 100% | Software Engineer | Full Time

Looking for 2 senior backend engineers and 1 senior frontend engineer.

Backend: You will predominantly be working on building a new platform using Kotlin, but you will also be expected to help maintain an existing Ruby on Rails platform. We use Elasticsearch, Kafka, Redis and Postgresql. Job ad can be found here: https://jobs.jobvite.com/careers/brandwatch/job/o6v4gfwF?__j... (ignore the part where it says that the position is based in the UK)

Frontend: You will become part of the frontend team and will be working on our web app (Javascript/Typescript/Vue & PHP/Laravel). We have little to no technical debt on the frontend and there are some exciting things on the roadmap. No job ad live for this role yet, but if you are interested, send me an email.

We are a small team, iterate fast and ship code almost daily. Few meetings, lots of flexibility and I think we managed to keep the startup spirit in our team after the acquisition. We are 100% remote (always have been) and have great work/life balance.

If you're interested, send your resume to rmuller@brandwatch.com

HMBradley | All Types of Software Engineers and Product folks | REMOTE/Los Angeles | Full Time

at HMBradley we're on a mission to rebuild how consumers interact with Financial products. Our flagship product is a checking account that pays higher interest when you save more of what comes in. We launched barely 18 months ago and have acquired more than half a billion dollars in deposits (We literally grew so fast our bank account product is currently invite-only!)

But our goals are much loftier than a bank account and we're just getting started on where we go from here. We've raised over $60M to build the best loyalty program in finance. Our core advantage over every bank you've ever done business with is that we don't have a silo'd structure requiring each individual product to be profitable on its own but instead build an ecosystem around each of our customers where the rewards get better with each new product they use.

In the very first days of HMBradley I used to tell people that we were "Mailing DVDs" in reference to Netflix. Today I would say we're just starting our version of "Shipping Ladders" like Amazon Prime.

These individual endeavors are helping us create an ecosystem of best in breed financial products that revolve around the customer experience, (which is what we believe is actually broken in banking) rewarding customer's with sound financial habits incentivizing good financial behaviors we believe is a win for everyone involved.

Fundamentally we're a software company that builds financial products. I'm a fourth time founder and I'm not here to sell this company, for us this is IPO or bust, we're swinging for the fence and the next 18 months is comprised of the most aggressive roadmap I've seen in any software company, much less in financial services. If we succeed we have a chance at becoming one of the largest companies the world has ever seen.

I often tell our employees that I cannot promise success, but I can promise fireworks. After the last 18 months of fireworks I'm proud to say there will be much more where that came from. We'd love to have you join us for the ride.

If you're an entrepreneur that's had a hard time working inside of other orgs I think we might have the exact right environment to let you thrive here because that is exactly the kind of founder I've been my entire career.

This has made it incredibly hard to be an employee at other places. My mission is to make this a place where incredibly entrepreneurial people can thrive but also have the benefit of building from a solid foundation and a massive set of learnings and shared services to leverage for the future.

If this sounds interesting and you don't see a job listed on our recruiting site feel free to reach out to me directly at zach [at] hmbradley.com and I'll get you in touch with the right person. We're posting new roles every day and we're looking for several single-threaded leaders for new product initiatives that are not listed on our site today.

We have a fair amount of jobs listed here: https://hmbradley.rippling-ats.com/

If you don't see what you're looking for feel free to shoot me an email at zach [at] hmbradley.com

Are these locations you have offices? I live in Amsterdam but require a work visa and would love to continue working from here.

At least we are incorporated there. I cannot promise anything regarding visa-related questions but I would assume a visa transfer should be doable. Let me know if you want to chat about this.
