I've done just about everything Silicon Valley has to offer; working for tiny, unprofitable startups, larger startups pre, post, and through IPO and acquisition, as well as giants with 100,000+ employees.

I built computers in Minecraft.

My latest is IRIS - a 16 bit computer with 8kB of RAM and half-precision floating point hardware. Using a fully custom RISC-like architecture and programming language that I designed.

I programmed DOOM, Minecraft in Minecraft, Elite, Ray tracer, Bad Apple, Tetris, Space Invaders, Mandelbrot, BBP Pi and more.

Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/ModPunchtree

I am the founder of URCL (universal assembly language): https://github.com/ModPunchtree/URCL/blob/main/Release/1.5/U...

I have created my own full toolchain/development stack - from a custom high level C-like language all the way down to the hardware itself, all of which I designed myself.

I manage a small open-source team of people maintaining URCL and developing programs for my Minecraft computers.

I plan everything meticulously and am ruthlessly goal focused. Unlike most - I finish every project I start.

I have no formal qualifications or experience as I am fully self-taught. My university degree is in Chemical Engineering. I didn't discover low level computer building and programming until halfway through my degree - else I would have chosen Electrical Engineering.

While I love building computers and can talk for hours about them, IRIS does not pay rent. So I am open to any and all work if you think I will fit. Extremely flexible - I can work any hours, any day of the week.

I'm a self-taught software engineer focused on AI systems and full-stack distributed applications. I learn by building.

Two recent projects, both open source:

- Agent Central: a real-time visual observatory for AI agents. Each agent is a pixel-art character in an office, moving between rooms based on what it's doing. FastAPI + Phaser + WebSocket. github.com/KaloyanYordanov12/agent-central

- Deal Hunter: a 6-stage agentic pipeline that scans Reddit, qualifies leads with Claude, and drafts personalized replies. Solo-operated in production. github.com/KaloyanYordanov12/deal-hunter

Both have backend test suites and CI. Day-to-day stack: Python, FastAPI, WebSockets, Claude API, JavaScript.

Open to engineering roles, particularly at AI-focused startups. Available immediately.

Previously a Production Engineer at Meta, I have spent the last ~5 years building compilers and computer languages. I recently submitted my Master’s in compiler design, with research on memory management, garbage collectors and virtual machines published at PLDI and ICFP workshops.

I'm passionate about anything touching a compiler. Here are some projects I'm particularly proud of:

- Lead maintainer of Ribbit, a highly portable and compact Scheme compiler supporting over 25 target languages (including C, x86, POSIX-Shell, Haskell, and OCaml): https://github.com/udem-dlteam/ribbit

- A new garbage collector algorithm (that can collect cycles immediately), implemented in C https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3735950.3735953

- A merged C++ patch to the LLVM compiler: https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/70845
