Hey everyone! I am Shashank, a data, cloud and backend engineer with 8 years of experience. Currently, I am working at an Ad Tech security company where I specialise in building backend APIs, ETL pipelines, working on security tools, overhauling our architecture and deployment processes, and managing a small team on the enterprise vertical. Prior to this, I was a founding engineer and data engineer at a DeFI based music startup, where I single-handedly built the entire data infrastructure, payments platform, analytics and reporting system and most of the company's products.

Throughout my 8-year career, I have gained extensive experience in delivering products from concept to launch, designing architecture, product & infrastructure planning, and managing small teams.

I have been working fully remotely for New York based companies since the past 4 years from India and Europe as a digital nomad. I am open to fully remote roles as well as onsite/hybrid if visa sponsorship is available.

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria

Remote: I only work remotely. Off-sites and meetups are okay as long as they are not more than 1-2 times a year.

Willing to relocate: No.

Technologies: Currently specializing in Elixir, Rust and Golang, and I plan to work with these three for a long time still. I know them pretty well and use them freely, though I have no open-source portfolio due to an eternal lack of time -- planning to change that but haven't gotten to it yet. I have worked with C, C++, Assembly, PHP, Javascript and Ruby (+Rails) in the past. I know shell scripting and automation very well and employ them regularly both at work and at home.

CV: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kiTD4inaqvCTJOsVVC757fpD...

Resume:

I have 21.5 years in the profession. Keen eye for detail and very good at producing readable and maintainable code. Worked a lot in startups and burned out -- I appreciate places that are a bit more stable now. I have no problem working for startups but I am no longer working overtime or treating the business as my own. Work-life balance must be good. In return I provide quality, stability and predictability. My mindset is to always leave things in better shape after myself. I do code reviews and mentorship as well.

Ideal workplace would be to work on the company's products in a small team with minimum management overhead.

Zero problems talking with business people and managers and I quite enjoy it even, though a hard requirement from my side is a minimum amount of meetings.

I take initiative, I take charge and I take ownership, but will expect a bit more autonomy, no micromanagement, and fair compensation that's not country-dependent.
