10+ years experience in python, both scientific (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, statsmodels, jupyter) and web backend (django, flask, sqlalchemy). Also experienced in R (experiment design, linear and nonlinear analysis, graphic presentation of data). Previous experience in experimental design and analysis when I was a manufacturing engineer in semiconductors. Able to work W2 or 1099, remote or in-person (as long as it's in Austin). COMPANY

Cuanto (YC19). We're creating tools to help entrepreneurs in Latin America grow their business through Instagram and WhatsApp. Our product is a Shopify-meets-Square for a business run by one person. We believe this will help millions live off the internet.

PROJECTS

1. Financial conciliation: We need help making our conciliation world-class. We're making enough money now that we want to avoid any possibility of a discrepancy. This may involve scraping a few banking partners, integrating with ledger providers or using open source solutions to do it in-house - we want to hear your opinion too. Stack: Rails, PostgreSQL.

2. Whatsapp integration: we want to build a WA bot to help merchants deal with inbound from consumers. Stack: Whatsapp API or whatsapp-web.js, Typescript. This is a big endeavor we want to break up in a few pieces but there's plenty of work to keep the project going if we like working together (custom UI, LLM integration).

3. Rails API performance: we track performance per endpoint using Skylight. Most of these things can be improved by checking we have proper indexes, others require denormalizing/reshuffling the data. Stack: Active Record, Redis, Postgre. You should know your way around Active Record and PostgreSQL indexing.
