1930s oak "banker's chair", re-finished, wheels replaced with felt pads. When you find something that fits your body, you stick with it.

I sit on the floor. I think it's silly so many people invest so much time sitting to be uncomfortable. If I have to sit at a desk, many years ago, I used an exercise ball. It was great as my position sitting was super neutral.

Currently on a couch with a laptop since I've been too lazy/cheap to set up something like an Altwork Station (imagine a, $8,000 dentist's chair with a monitor above it). Hopefully Apple Vision Pro will be good enough that I can strap one of those on and working from almost anything where I can recline (sofa chair, couch, bed, car seat, etc.)

Herman Miller Embody, picked up with a Veteran discount early COVID lockdowns. Noticed significant improvements in reduced pain about a week into having it, still feels as good as it did almost 3 years later.

Herman Miller Aeron chair. Bought it used 20 years ago and I could sell it for more than that now. Still looks like same condition when I bought it. Dragged it from one gig to the next instead of accepting the crappy office chairs. Major impact on lessening fatigue and productivity.

I've got a Boss Design Delphi DEL/2: https://www.bossdesign.com/product/delphi - acquired 20 years ago when my then employer shut down and didn't need a boardroom any more. It's not obviously designed for computer work, as it's not terribly adjustable (seat rotates and tilts, height is adjustable, that's it), but I find it supremely comfortable.

(It also feels very solid: the mechanisms are still quiet, despite lack of maintenance, and there's very little play when I'm sat in it.)

I'm 46 and my chair is a foldable 10 dollar chair I bought at some random store. Usually, I stand or move around. My butt hurts after an hour on that thing. This is good feedback. And I use it to move.

Be aware of your body is more important than any chair.
