I have 7 years experience at successful startups leading teams and driving projects from ideation through to delivery & maintenance. I have full-stack experience building distributed, scalable, and robust back-ends and delightful mobile and web clients. I enjoy working cross-functionally with other teams and stakeholders to develop objectives, timelines, and plans. I’m looking for full-time staff/principal/lead/architect or hands-on engineering manager roles.

Full stack engineer with about 9 years of experience. I'm interested in solving hard problems and would love to help build creative and beautiful solutions. Machine learning, optimization, and games are three particular points of interest, but working with functional languages is always a plus.

I'm a fast learner and interested in pushing my boundaries. I'd love to be the least experienced person in the room - more opportunity for learning!

I'm self-taught and my degree is in philosophy, which I like to think leaves me in a good position to think creatively about problems and to communicate well.

I am a CPA (former auditor!) who is now a developer, working as a consultant for two firms. I'm mostly looking for part time work. One of the projects I'm involved with now is winding down and I will have about 10 hours a week open starting in the next few weeks.

Right now my main role is working at a large finance company transforming their business processes with code, and sitting between the accounting department and developers to try and move things in a sensible direction. I'm part project manager part business analyst.

I'm looking to get involved in some interesting work where my skills might be of use. I currently code mostly in an in-house functional language the firm developed based on D, but I'm adept with python as well. I've built internal tools, such as a library for automating financial reporting, some basic CRUD web interfaces for managing data, I built a REST API to serve up some finance data for the rest of the firm, etc.

Here's the sort of things I might be able to help out with:

- I can speak both the business language and the tech language. I can help manage and lead projects while understanding the tech side of things

- Advise on improving your operations

- Typical accounting work, like month end closes, financial statements, bookkeeping, analysis, etc. (The advantage here for me would be that I'd like to automate as much as possible, where the typical accountant might not have the skills for that)

- Help put business processes and logic into code

- Make business problems go away (compliance, tax, paperwork type stuff, etc)

- Liason with external accountants, tax people, etc

Available for part-time or full-time contract work, preferably on a long-term basis, but I'm also available for smaller projects.

I am very flexible with my working hours (mostly working with clients from USA). I am a full-stack developer with more than 8 years of professional experience mostly in Node.js, C# .NET and React as a freelance developer. I don't shy away from the DevOps and DBA parts of the project either. I also like to create beautiful UI's that users love.

I prefer a long-term contract, but I'm also available for smaller projects.

I also work through Toptal. My CV is available on my toptal profile and my website.

My rate is $90/hour.
