Email: peter@marreck.com (which I try to keep professional) or lumbergh@gmail.com

I'm "pmarreck" on pretty much all public services (github etc.).

I'm looking for part-time contract or fulltime work as a sysadmin, a DBA, an automated test suite maintainer, a backend web dev, a code reviewer, a technical consultant, a technical project manager, a hybrid manager/developer (I LOVE mentoring/sharing the lessons I've learned), (possibly) technical sales (I've been described as "socially portable" which might lend utility there, I also like getting excited about cool tech and have been told my enthusiasm is contagious, which might lend itself to sales... and I seem to get along well with "sales guy types" as well as everyday geeks), or anything else where you think a long-time bleeding-edge nerd who is now a new dad might be able to assist with.

I have a PhD in optimization / operations research. I'm the father of four young children, so I'm looking for flexible/remote part-time work, and/or contract work. I can work up to around 20-30 hours per week.

My specializations revolve around optimization and operations research---essentially, I solve optimization problems. You can give me a real-world problem and I can translate it into a mathematical model that can be solved (often optimally) via integer programming, constraint programming, or various forms of metaheuristics. I could manage my way around new solvers and programming languages if the project required it.

I'm currently working on a column generation-based daily fantasy sports (DFS) solver as a personal project. Taking as input the predictions/requirements of the user, this solver can generate optimal lineups for multi-entry tourneys. It is, as far as I am aware, the only DFS solver that can generate provably optimal sets of lineups for multi-entry DFS tourneys.
