I've been in the Devops/SRE space for 21 years. I've been using Kubernetes in production on large clusters for over 5 years now. I've saved companies 40%+ of their AWS bill by utilizing autoscaling and spot heavily with great success.

PS very recently I went through a FAANG Software Development Manager interview loop and was offered a position, but had to decline when the offer was changed from a remote position to an onsite position.

Technologies: Pick a language and I will have professional experience programming in it from being asked to do so on the job, and I wont get hung up on the language or framework. I might push back if I know a better tool, but I'm language and platform agnostic. More recently I'm doing more GoLang (Gin, AWS, Lambda) , JavaScript (Frontend & Backend), Python (Django, flask), but have a lot of experience with Java (8/11/+) and C#/F# (Core and Standard). I'm a full stack, full cycle, software developer/org lead as required. I also like the backend more than I do frontend.

Let's see what happens. I've been programming for a very long time as a professional high impact consultant and I'm looking to get out of contracting permanently in the best case. I have worked at MS Research as well as AMZN in the past, so I know I have skills that are valuable on the market, but I'm trying to find a FTE role over any kind of contract as I find contracts don't give me enough value because the faster I work the less I get paid, and I like to get stuff done. I typically work as an architect or as a principal/sr./lead engineer of some kind, mentoring the team, generally staying on the ground with them to help if my role allows it, and helping them learn to get their work done in the best way possible so the company has fewer surprises and issues and they can have the best career possible. I'm all about sustainability and also am a big fan of continuous integration and delivery, and am experienced in devops as well as purple team security roles from my prior experience in security/AEO focused roles. I'm a full stack, full lifecycle software development engineer, with prior leadership and infosec experience.

I am a product development generalist with a focus towards embedded software platforms. I have 14 years of embedded software experience in both embedded Linux and microcontrollers (including bare metal and RTOS) and have built and managed a 5-man embedded software development team for 4 years. I have worked at startups, small companies, and large multinationals.

In my last position, I was involved in product development at all stages from conceptualization to mass production. My involvement included many fields of expertise, including mechanical (checking DFM for industrial designs), electrical (reading schematics and conducting hardware bring-up), software (doing embedded BSP development), testing (working with product validation to develop test cases), and manufacturing (creating production line software verification tests and verifying manufacturing processes at the factory). I also worked with non-engineering teams such as product management (on product requirements and technical specifications) and project management (on project schedules and development costs). The teams I worked with were located across many time zones (including both sides of the Pacific and Atlantic).

As a self-taught software developer, I am a quick learner and very flexible. I recently returned from Shenzhen after 5 years of living there and now I'm looking for a new position that lets me make an impact, develop my skillset, and work on interesting products and problems.

I have a PhD in optimization / operations research. I'm the father of four young children, so I'm looking for flexible/remote part-time work, and/or contract work. I can work up to around 20-30 hours per week (this varies depending on whether kids get sick, if I have other contracts, etc).

My specializations revolve around optimization and operations research---essentially, I solve optimization problems. You can give me a real-world problem and I can translate it into a mathematical model that can be solved (often optimally) via integer programming, constraint programming, or various forms of metaheuristics. I could manage my way around new solvers and programming languages if the project required it.

I'm currently working on a column generation-based daily fantasy sports (DFS) solver as a personal project. Taking as input the predictions/requirements of the user, this solver can generate optimal lineups for multi-entry tourneys. It is, as far as I am aware, the only DFS solver that can generate provably optimal sets of lineups for multi-entry DFS tourneys.
