Algolia | Software and data engineers | Full-time | Bucharest hybrid

At Algolia, we are expanding our team in Bucharest and have five roles we are actively hiring for!

Algolia was built to help users deliver an intuitive search-as-you-type experience on their websites and mobile apps. We provide a search API used by thousands of customers in more than 100 countries. Billions of search queries are answered every month thanks to the code we push into production every day.

I am personally hiring three roles in my teams and I am looking for engineers with Go experience (or a willingness to learn) to help grow the Usage team and be the founding members of the Events team.

    - Senior Software Engineer, Usage - mostly backend, all in golang, mature product that we continue to grow and evolve
    - Senior Data Engineer, Events - looking for a data engineer with a systems and software mindset, or a software engineer with deep data knowledge and experience
    - Full-stack Software Engineer, Events - we have mostly a backend focus, but do have customer facing front end work (React+Rails) and integrations into other frontend platforms
My colleagues are also hiring across their teams:

    - Senior UI Software Engineer, Connectors Platform - building Typescript+React UIs for our customers for data ingestion and enrichment
    - Software Engineer, Control - building full stack products for our customers in Typescript, React, Ruby and Golang
You can find all of these roles on our careers page https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/algolia?offices%5B%5D=40048...

Maybe you need to do some due diligence with ghost jobs. It would make this platform better.

We don't have the resources to do that. If you want a longer explanation, I wrote about this quite a bit in last month's thread—see https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45094555 and especially https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45118501 .

But it's not that difficult to implement that functionality, if company posts more than 3 times a year you can ping them if they really are hiring.

We are not asking for policing but every publicly available forum is swamped with ghost jobs and consultancies which are basically farming resumes and personal data. It makes the internet barely usable. These are not good faith actors.

Caspian Trade | Product Engineer | Full-Time | SF | meetcaspian.com

We're building trade software that actually works.

Our first product is duty drawback. Every year $10B in potential refunds are left unclaimed. Data is unstructured, fragmented and trapped in legacy systems that don't talk to each other. We're helping companies organize and understand their trade data. Leveraging the wedge product, we intend to quickly grow beyond our initial product.

You'll work with a small (5-10), well-funded and experienced team. We have paying customers and are scaling up quickly in an established space. Our engineering culture emphasizes simplicity, autonomy and end-to-end ownership. Node, Typescript, React, PostgresQL

Feel free to reach out to ebeweber@meetcaspian.com

I have to disagree there—this is a complicated domain and I'm afraid it would be quite difficult to get right. For example, I'm sure there are quite a few legit companies posting more than 3 times a year. Excluding them wouldn't be a good strategy; they might well be some of the best places to get hired.

You're certainly correct that there are bad actors, on both sides of the hiring transaction—that is, there are fake jobs and also fake job applicants. Unfortunately it is a hard problem to solve, and we have no particular expertise in it.
