Plasmic | Software Engineer | Remote | Full Time

Plasmic (https://www.plasmic.app) is a new visual page/frontend builder that integrates with real-world production codebases.

We are an early-stage startup with a tiny but wonderful distributed team of 8 from Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Dropbox, MIT, Berkeley, including 3 ex-founders with exits and 3 ICPC world finalists. We received outlier funding offers from a number of top VCs like NEA and investors in Figma/Framer.

We have paying customers including a Fortune 500. But it’s still early and we have many challenges ahead!

Plasmic itself is a sprawling application with complex state and interactions, where users can spend hours per session. We face many deep engineering challenges, such as:

- building a robust, performant, and feature-packed design tool on the web

- enabling existing code components to be seamlessly used in the editor

- optimizing for latency in all interactions, even when scaling to large projects

- translating free-form vector graphics from tools like Figma/XD to web standards

- handling dynamic data in the visual editor

We’re looking for one more generalist software engineer to join as a member of the formative team. You would be directly shaping the product and its future direction. You don’t need to be specialized in frontend; more important to us are software engineering foundations and experience.

If this sounds interesting, please get in touch at hiring+hn@plasmic.app. We would love to meet you!

Byway Travel (https://www.byway.travel) | Java developer | Full time | Mostly remote (1-2 days/month in London) | GMT timezone

We’re looking for two developers to join our founding team, building the world’s first dynamic packaging engine for flight-free holidays.

We’re fighting climate change by building the technology layer that will allow flight-free slow travel to scale post lockdown. Founded in March 2020, we’re a Pending B Corporation backed by Innovate UK and incredible investors. Revenues are surging, and we’re featured in press weekly, from Positive News to the Guardian. We’re a small, fast-moving and fast-growing team, so there’s huge potential for growth in this role and beyond. Your code will make a difference to our team and customers daily: your impact will be direct and visible. You’ll report directly to our CTO, Rich Levy, and work closely with our founder and CEO, Cat Jones. We help people explore the world by travelling through it, not flying over it

We exist to make flight-free holidays seamless and personal from start to end. We want to help our customers experience the joy of journeying by train and boat, opening their eyes to a new way of holidaying in which they can experience the lesser-known parts of the world instead of flying over them. We’ll blaze a trail into a new travel ecosystem growing up around sustainable, authentic and conscious travel. We’ve certified as a Pending B Corporation, which means we’re committed to building a business that’s a force for good.

We're looking for two developers :- - Full stack node.js + React, apply here https://smrtr.io/5LvDT - Backend Java, apply here https://smrtr.io/5Lq4R

What we offer : - Stock options and 25 days holiday plus public holidays - High specification laptop & tools, second screen, docking station and accessories - Remote (work from anywhere) and flexible working with ~2 days/month in London - Exposure to all parts of the business and countless opportunities for growth and development - The opportunity to be part of our founding team - Support and coaching from experienced leaders including the technical lead for Great Rail Journeys and Inntravel, and the founding CTO of Viator

We’re committed to building a diverse culture and are eager to receive applications from all backgrounds. All applicants will receive consideration for employment without discrimination.

Unfortunately, we can’t support visa applications at this time
