Unnamed Forum | San Francisco | Remote | Contract You may know me here as the owner and founder of rsync.net. This is not a job posting for rsync.net. Rather, I am starting a new venture that involves creating a threaded discussion software very much like what we are using right here on HN . The full job description, which is likely to be a contract position but could evolve into a full time development position, is…

Having written forum stuff a few times over, I’m not sure you realize what you should even ask for. We never released the last rewrite, so could sell that, but it’s old…

Once a community is started, you will spend all your time on content moderation features (less if more like HN than Reddit).

Be sure the dev separates out the messages from ordering. I just saved you a rewrite, lol.

Fixed. Sorry. In my mind I still think of Hacker News as an old Reddit fork and I assumed it had direct messaging.

Level 12 | Full Stack Web Developer - Python, React/JavaScript, SQL | Mid-Level & Senior | REMOTE | SALARY:$95K-145K+ | https://www.level12.io/careers/

Level 12 is a software consulting and custom development agency. We have mid and senior level positions. Our job descriptions are written by developers for developers. No HR fluff here, we want you to know what you are really getting into:

https://www.level12.io/careers/

- We have a commitment to transparency and offer a "no surprises experience" throughout the interview and hiring process. We value candor...as evidenced by the length of our job description. :)

- Our CEO prefers the title CED, Chief Executive Developer. Engineering and operational concerns don't take a back seat when potential sales come to the front door.

- You will be working remote with a team that is all working remote and has been for years. Let's make the best use of our time by not commuting.

- We practice and preach sound development practices. You are likely to learn and grow as a developer while working here.

- You are committed to automated testing of all the software you write (our apps typically have 92%+ test coverage).

- We have a no-drama office policy. We value and cultivate enjoyable working relationships among team members. No jerks allowed!

- Are you still reading this? Email me (the CTO) with a dad joke and any questions you have about the job or our company and I'll personally respond with my own joke, and, as best I'm able, the answer to your questions. matthias.hager@level12.io

- We emphasize work/life balance and adopt policies that make sure our people don't get burnt out. For instance, our PTO/Vacation policies are designed so that you actually use them.

- If you apply, we guarantee that we will give you a response, whether "yay" or "nay". No black holes here!

Immunant | Irvine, CA | Software Engineer | FREELANCE or FULL-TIME | REMOTE (US residents only)

Immunant is a motley crew of nerds who likes to write Rust but not for the blockchain. Instead, we focus on operating systems development, security hardening, and code migration to Rust. The code we help write run on millions of devices and must resist attempts at tampering and exploitation.

If you are a dedicated systems programmer with substantial C/C++ or Rust knowledge and the ability to solve problems in a minimally terrible, minimally fragile, and reasonably clear way, we'd love to hear from you. We'll currently consider both experienced freelancers and exceptionally strong candidates for full-time positions.

Please send your CV to team@immunant.com. We are unable to consider candidates outside of the US. Please mention HN in the subject so we know you pay attention to detail. We look forward to hearing from you.

Earlier quoted context omitted.

Honest question for the community: I noticed Meta gets downvoted here (happened a few times). Any idea why, and should I format things differently? I hope this is not a thing, because I found my current job through a similar post here a few years ago. :(

Formatting is fine. It only takes a handful of downvotes to grey out and down-list a comment. Given the "recognizability" of the company and the distribution of opinions about it here, it's not that surprising that Meta gets buried. Don't take it too seriously.

Got it. Thank you.

Radar Labs | Software Engineers & Technical PMs (infra, platform, data, full-stack, mobile) | Remote US / New York City | Full Time

https://radar.com Radar Labs is a location infrastructure SaaS platform.

Over the past year Radar has been used from 100M+ devices doing 10,000 qps.

We've recently raised our Series C and are a small, but mighty engineering team (9 engineers!). We're based across the US, with an HQ in NYC in Union Square.

- Platform (e.g. Build out abstractions for our product engineers to ingest and compute geo queries at high-scale)

- Data (e.g. Process, deduplicate, and evaluate 10s of millions of POIs from a variety of vendors and open data)

- Mobile (e.g. building a control system that automatically configures optimizing battery-life and location accuracy for different use-cases over time)

- Product (e.g. build tools to visualize and debug location data at scale)
