History as a freelancer myself in web/graphic design/photography/videography, so I have a product mindset here too.

Senior Java Software Engineer with 20 years of professional experience building enterprise applications.

Although I've held Tech Lead and Architect roles in the past, I'm primarily looking for hands-on Senior Software Engineer opportunities where I can focus on software development. I enjoy building software and spending most of my time writing code.

My expertise is Java backend development across both Spring Boot and Java EE ecosystems. I have extensive experience designing and implementing REST APIs, microservices, enterprise web applications and cloud-based solutions.

I also work as a Full Stack developer when needed, with strong Angular experience and solid knowledge of modern web technologies.

I'm comfortable working across the entire software development lifecycle, from implementation and debugging to deployment support, Docker-based development environments and cloud platforms such as AWS.

Looking for long-term remote contract opportunities with US companies. Available to work full-time and overlap with US business hours.

I love learning new things and am a fast learner. Currently I am messing around with local LLMs burning my laptop CPU and also writing a new agent harness called omega that uses Unix user separation to sandbox commands and encourages a Linux kernel mailing list-like workflow (blog post to come!). I started dabbling in reverse engineering and set up a nice workflow to keep my reverse-engineered PlayStation App library up to date with new releases after having figured out the native library works with the help of open models.

In the past I've worked on applications ranging from an enterprise Java, .NET and Angular stack, to writing C++ patches for Chromium for web scraping, and have also participated in Google Summer of Code 2023 for the Tor Project on Arti, their Rust rewrite of tor.

Looking for further opportunities, including but not limited to Rust, web browsers and LLMs. Let's get in touch!

SEEKING FREELANCE WORK | US | Remote OK

I am a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Google Style, with experience at both large and small organizations. I can help you build a Platform Engineering practice from the very beginning. I'm looking to help small dev teams increase their velocity by implementing best-practices of Devops: CI/CD, Kubernetes Deployments, and effective Monitoring frameworks.

I'm particularly selling my skills in PKI/TLS. My clients are rapidly moving to MTLS for all service-to-service authentication and even for browser-to-service authentication for internal tools.
