I know this must be a crappy feeling, but it's against the guidelines to complain about this here. My personal recommendation is that if you strongly believe you're a fit to work at the company, find ways to connect with key people there and demonstrate credibility. Some effort and self-confidence can make all the difference sometimes. We detached this comment from https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44436467 and ma…

I've got plenty of... confidence. And have tried contacting folks directly at times. It's never helped and there's risk of offense. I shouldn't have to stalk people to get a reply when the post and You: paragraph above exactly describes me. A reply with a simple "we have too many qualified applicants, sorry you weren't chosen," would be fine. But that didn't happen, either the message or the reality, did it? The post…

Yes, this is understandable and fair enough to feel this way. I wasn't aware we had added the line about being "committed to responding to applicants" to the post header. We'll have to think about how we handle posters who don't honour that.

MENTZ | C++ Algorithm Engineer | ONSITE (Munich) | Full-Time

MENTZ builds software for public transit agencies and authorities. One big part of our portfolio is an intermodal journey planning system - think Google/Apple Maps, but with a strong focus on public transit.

We're looking for a C++ backend dev to join the team working on the public transit router. We are currently in an exciting phase where we're working on the current and next generation of that public transit router simultaneously, so this position combines the possibility of having an immediate impact on a widely used product and working on something brand new.

More details (and a way to apply) are available here: https://en.mentz.net/jobs/c-algorithm-engineer-for-public-tr...

If you have any questions, you can contact us at jobs@recruiting.mentz.net.

Phrasing | https://phrasing.app | Elixir + Clojure + Swift | Technical Co-founder | EU REMOTE (Amsterdam/Lisbon) I’m going to be honest with you: I want to be the best in the world at what I do. I’m not there yet, but I know I am willing to put in the hours, and fail as many times as it takes for me to get there. For that reason, Phrasing to me is more than just a language learning application. It’s a chance to do so…

We gotta know if the humorous prompt engineering you laid out in June's post gave interesting results.

Best of luck with the search!
