> we're very happy with international engineers but if you come to me asking for a US engineer comp, it takes away the primary reason why we'd consider international in the first place

So engineers outside the US are fine if you can get them at a steep discount compared to their American counterparts? This sounded quite appealing until this line. Now I feel like the company is overly stingy. In the future you may want to leave this line out and simply tailor offers to the candidates when the time comes.

I have a geninue question for any company (esp tech) that uses workday - why?

workday is, without doubt, one of the worst ATS from applicant's UX perspective. Every other ATS I've used can easily parse a resume, but workday still struggles. And yet, it's used so often.

Why? Why not use greenhouse or lever? Geninuely curious mate.

Zetier | Full-time | All Levels CNO Developers | Arlington VA | https://zetier.com/careers/ Zetier is a mission focused cyber security research and development company. We are looking for developers to craft innovative, tailor-made solutions to enhance our client's offensive and defensive cyber capabilities. https://zetier.breezy.hr

Note that they want people with a good amount of experience and be ready to be grilled about technical concepts (explaining how they work/are exploited in detail). 3-4 interview stages starting with the CEO who is former NSA.

Thanks! We do focus on a technical interview, but not trivia. We really want to know where a candidate's expertise and passions lay. We try to do hands on as much as possible. Four stages would be unusual, typically the interview process includes a 30min phone screen followed by a technical panel. Sometimes there may also be a preliminary recruiting call to gauge interest.

meh. it's just the reality and the last time i posted (and hired a few from HN post), it was a recurring thing. we actually pay above market locally but when someone in Brazil is demanding $200k/year USD to start... it unfortunately turns into a non-starter.
