OneTake AI ( https://www.onetake.ai/ ) | Product Owner / Product Manager | Fully Remote (CET hours ±4) | Full-time Hi there, I’m one of the co-founders of a remote AI startup that’s reimagining video editing with cutting-edge LLM technology. We’re small, friendly, and flat in structure, and we place a high value on autonomy, initiative, and embracing complex challenges (instead of waiting for step-by-step instruction…

A video application? Really? Sigh.

Hi, I get the feeling! We made the decision based on a couple of reasons though:

1. we get a ton of LLM-written applications, this enables us to at least get a feel of the person

2. we are a video creation product, this is an opportunity for the Product Owner to actually touch the product and decide if they want to work on it

3. we are live on Zoom with customers twice a month to launch new features, talk through the roadmap, take feature requests, etc. If the Product Owner (who is expected to take on this role over time) is against the idea of being visible on video themselves, they might just not be a match for this product and company.

Reef Technologies | Senior Python Backend Engineer | REMOTE

We’re looking for Python backend engineers to work on a trustless supercluster of performance-proofed, GPU-enabled, sandboxed Docker container runners controlled by truly decentralized algorithms (not just PAXOS or RAFT).

Wow, that was a mouthful...

If you found it interesting, join Reef Technologies and tackle complex technical challenges like this on your own terms:

- Set your own time commitment, as long as it’s at least 30h per week

- See how we work in our handbook: github.com/reef-technologies/handbook

- Influence the way we operate through our Sociocracy 3.0 decision-making process

Salary on a B2B contract:

- $45–$70 USD or 190–295 PLN per hour

- $7,560–$11,760 USD or 31,920–49,560 PLN per month if you work 40 hours per week (most of us work a bit less)

- Flexible work schedule (as measured with a time tracker)

- Rates are automatically adjusted for inflation twice a year

We're looking for someone with 5+ years of programming experience, including at least one year with Python (open source and significant personal projects count!).

So, what do you think? You don't even need a CV - just go to https://careers.reef.pl/?utm_source=hackernews and shoot a few quick commands to apply.

The "Windows Desktop App" position from DDG is quite infamous here. I did my own DD and found it has appeared in Ask HN threads since at least May 2023. Beginning to side with others stating this position was never meant to be filled but rather serve as some +ve market indicator about DDG

I don't know. DDG tried to headhunt me from a previous position a while ago for this. Perhaps they're simply building a large-ish team?

Unitary Foundation | Full-Stack Web Developer (UI/UX) | Open-source | Full-time | Remote (EU/NA timezones) | https://unitary.foundation/

EDIT: the position is now closed.

----

We're a quantum computing non-profit organization, and we are looking for a web developer.

The job is classical — mostly building web portals — but those portals open into the quantum world.

Quantum computing knowledge is a plus, but not required. The initial project is a platform to understand the trajectory of quantum computing. The focus is on data visualization, so strong skills in that area are preferred. The candidate will work mostly alongside quantum engineers and researchers, so ownership to work independently on the classical side of things is important.

The stack of the main web project is PERN, but the organization maintains other projects in Python.

We’ve been continuously hiring for this position as we’ve been building up our Windows browser team and have found the positions relatively difficult to fill.

Fake positions are the "kayfabe"[1] of HN's Who's Hiring. They are a variation in the "Emperor's new clothes"[2]: everyone knows they're fake but no one should say it. So, expect your comment to be removed. But thanks for doing it, anyway. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kayfabe [2] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Emperor's_New_Clothes

We don’t have fake positions.
