Just want to say that your remote-first culture and compensation structure is admirable. Kudos to you and the entire company!

Although it is concerning they post the same openings again and again.

Agreed and they reject applications with the reason they hired somebody else, though keep posting here

Replit | SF | Full Time Build software collaboratively with the power of AI, on any device, without spending a second on setup. Currently hiring: - AI Engineer - AI Backend Engineer - AI Frontend Engineer - Product Engineer - Dev Rel Engineer - PM, Growth See these opportunities and more below: [Replit Jobs]( https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/replit?utm_source=HackerNews )

How can the company state the following:

> "To achieve our mission of making programming more accessible around the world, we need our team to be representative of the world."

Then, also have this:

> "This role has an in-office requirement on Tuesdays and Thursdays."

Being a tech company, having in-office requirements seems pretty exclusionary and myopic given the success companies realized with remote workforces over the last couple of years.

Making in-office an optional consideration, or having people meeting biannually/quarterly, would open up your candidate pool quite a bit more.

SSD's have a finite write life, I talk about this a lot because I've hit it, a lot. I've also hit a few specific firmware bugs in drives, my favorite was a 49 day uptime bug related to a 32 bit counter. Its one of those awful ops problems :)

Just buy the SSDs from different vendors. Same batch drives usually have this problem of having the same mtbf.

That’s actually a great idea, seems obvious but I never would’ve thought of it.

Pomelo Care | San Francisco, Remote (USA only) | Software Engineer (mid career - Staff), Data Engineer, Senior Product Designer, Senior Product Manager Engineering JD: Pomelo Care is a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, engineers and problem solvers who are passionate about improving care for moms and babies. As an early member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to shape the product, codebase,…

I have to admit, I was a little confused when I applied for a role there, with 8 years PM experience, Typescript, React, K8s experience, 10+ years healthcare IT experience, and hell, have delivered 5 babies as a critical care paramedic, to be told that Pomelo was "looking for someone whose experience is more closely aligned with our needs"...
