Location: Kelowna, BC, Canada Remote: Yes Willing to relocate: No Technologies: Python, Typescript, Node, Golang, React, Svelte, Angular, Elixir, AWS, git, aws-cdk, Docker, SQL Résumé/CV: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18DMFSYHAof8-sSmlhi6uvBGPYot... Email: hn@jonboyd.ca

I've been working at various startups or consulting for the past 8 years, building everything from mobile apps for NBA teams, to rewriting mission critical software for natural gas conglomerates, to creating realtime healthcare systems that have a five 9's uptime requirement.

I worked full time a healthcare start up for years, on a rotating 24/7, week long, oncall shift. I've navigated serious system outages caused by both internal, and external integration issues. I've written numerous retrospectives after incidents, documenting what happened, why and how it happened, and what measure we can take to ensure it doesn't happen again. I've built integrations with various observability platforms, and created internal tools where integrations weren't an option.

In these positions I've set up CI/CD platforms, designed numerous webs systems that were fully documented using infrastructure as code tools, integrated notification and observability platforms, regularly preformed PR reviews, pushed to establish better engineer practices (automated formatting, static typing, dependency management, coding style, etc), and have lead teams of other engineers on many projects.

I'm currently consulting on a few short term contracts and am looking to take on long term employment for an interesting project.

Location: New York Remote: Open to it, but in-office acceptable. Hybrid preferred.

Willing to relocate: No

Technologies: Python, Postgres, Redshift, DBT, Docker, Spark, Flink, Jupyter, Pandas, AWS

Résumé/CV: email for resume

Email: sam.kritch@gmail.com

I'm a "data generalist"—I can build a modern data stack on my own: data warehouse, ETL framework, analytics eng, DBT, basic ML and DS, streaming, etc. I have five years of experience across various data roles.

My preference would be to work on a DS or data/ML-intensive products, at a smaller company. Also interested in full-stack or pure backend eng on data-intensive products. Top priority is to work on a product in an effective org with effective people.

Contract, part-time employment or volunteer

Location: Africa

Remote: yes

Willing to relocate: yes, to any location in Africa, where i can get the necessary permission to live and work.

Technologies: Linux, Fullstack, System Administration.

Résumé/CV: on request (software development, CTO, mentoring, training, fluent in English and German)

Like this Ask HN: Recommend employers with positive social impact [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31518945], I am looking for similar work. I am a European software developer who has lived and worked on four continents. Now it's time to move on and so i am looking to relocate to Africa.

While i could find a job elsewhere i believe that the experience living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives me a better understanding of the needs of the location i am serving. Whether it is through direct contact with clients and users or just by being part of a local community and learning about the reality of living there.

I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing software development, support and training and mentoring adults and students, as well as working on educational projects, and i am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a project.

I am willing to consider a volunteer position if a visa can be arranged.

Hello, I'm an Australian currently finishing up a 10 month web development course and looking for my first full-time role in tech. My GitHub and projects can be viewed here https://github.com/plutoniumcat . My final project is working with a real life client on a full-stack MERN app for creating and administering customer surveys. I'm a dedicated learner who previously spent 10+ years in Japan as a language instructor and translator, and would very much like to return (currently staying here on a tourist visa). But if that doesn't work out I'm also open to roles in any major Australian city, or even other Asian countries. Looking for a foot in the door and a place where I can grow my skills quickly!

I've been a professional software developer since 1989, and was self-taught from age 14 (1984). Most of my experience is in desktop and server development on Windows platforms in C++ and C#, but I've done Linux and web development when both were still new.

Experienced Rails & JS full stack dev looking for freelance/contract/consulting opportunities.

  Location: French Alps
Remote: Only - can travel anywhere in Europe for quarterly team meetups
  Willing to relocate: no
  Technologies: Ruby / Rails / JS / Node / Typescript / Vue / Git / AWS / Cloudflare
  Résumé/CV: https://davekinkead.com/
  Email: hn@davekinkead.com
Once upon a time I was a military officer. Then I became an academic philosopher. Now I'm a full stack dev living in the French Alps.

I specialise in turning vague ideas into robust software. I’m really good at asking questions to get to the heart of a problem, translating these into actionable requirements, and implementing them in well tested and documented code.

Happy to work solo, lead, or as part of a team on any stack in the Ruby or JS ecosystems.
