Saildrone | Multiple Roles | Onsite/Remote (US Only) | SF Bay Area (Alameda) | Full-Time | https://www.saildrone.com/

Saildrone is the world's leading collector of ocean related in situ data via uncrewed vehicle, above and below the sea surface. We work with governments, civic agencies, foundations, universities, and private companies around the globe to drive better information about our oceans and seas - be it sailing drones into the eye of hurricanes to obtain new scientific storm data, mapping out the ocean floor, collecting new CO2 data in hard-to-reach areas, counting biomass to establish fishing quotas, or detecting and stopping illegal fishing and drug trafficking.

Maybe you saw that we hucked a drone into a category 4 hurricane[1] last fall. Or maybe that we recently raised a $100M series C[2]. Or maybe you didn't see any of that, but you're still intrigued by the idea of autonomous, long endurance sailboats that help us better understand our planet.

Whatever the case, we're hiring for a breadth of different positions across our organization. In software, we're hiring for Firmware, Embedded, DevOps, Platform, and Network Engineers. Stacks vary from team to team, but we're looking primarily for folks with backgrounds in C++, Python, and/or JavaScript (Node, TypeScript, React). We're remote-friendly for certain positions, though require folks to be onsite for others.

In addition to software engineers, we're also hiring for a bunch of other positions across the company in production/manufacturing, hardware engineering, and more!

You can see a list of open positions on our career page: https://www.saildrone.com/careers

Please apply through our career page; be sure to select "Other" and specify this HN post when asked how you heard about us!

JustParent | Front-end engineer | Full-stack engineer | London, UK or REMOTE | Full time

JustParent is creating a new standard for family-friendly companies, starting by making it as easy as SaaS for companies to offer affordable parental leave with an insurance-backed cost cap. Kicking off in the UK in 2023 but with global ambitions.

Our goal is to eliminate the gender pay gap and make SMEs competitive for employees at the most productive stages of their careers.

We’re building beautiful, easy-to-use software that makes our proposition super easy to understand and buy. As part of that we’re building a small engineering team to work with our technical founder (that’s me!) that will be responsible for modeling, integration with HRIS tools and platform delivery.

If creating a more equal world for our daughters and sons sounds like a meaningful project drop an email to founders@justparent.co.uk with a link to open-source profile, your portfolio, or an old-fashioned CV. (Sorry, no website yet, we’re _so_ stealthy)
