A couple of us played Supreme Commander and liked it, but we all went back to TA for some reason. Read the bad reviews of SC2 and never tried it.
Most of the time I find people who miss TA miss nuclear arms races. That glorious 10 minutes of screen shaking in the late game when hundreds of nuclear missiles fly back and forth and we get to see who built enough strategic defence.
