Hello, my name is Jesse.

I describe myself as a competent generalist, and a lifelong learner. I'm frequently working on something I've never done before. I've worked at every level of the stack, from cycle-shaving hot loops that saturate instruction pipelines to the frontend of large web applications. My most recent professional experience has been about a year at a semiconductor startup; I wrote prototypes for an ISA, compiler, a cycle simulator and visual debugger.

In terms of hard technical skills, I can quickly become productive in nearly any language, and at any level of the stack. I'm comfortable working in heavily multithreaded/async soft-realtime environments where performance is a key acceptance criteria. I have a good understanding of modern hardware architectures, including GPUs, from main memory to registers and instruction pipelines. I have working knowledge of interpreters, dynamic language runtimes and garbage collectors. I'm convinced I can learn nearly anything (albeit some things more quickly than others), given an appropriate problem domain to apply it to.

In terms of business value, I can take hand-wavy visions of new products and turn them into working prototype(s), quickly. I'm comfortable refining those raw materials and delivering real value to customers, internal or external. I have a track record of successfully identifying 80/20 solutions and love the feeling of making tools that make peoples lives better.

In my personal life, I enjoy travelling, surfing, climbing, backcountry skiing, snowmobiling, pirates, and attending raves. I like the phrase "have strong opinions, weakly held".

If I was born to do one thing in this world, it's program computers.

Jesse

SourceForge (production VPN/tunneling apps, global users): https://sourceforge.net/projects/vpn-4g-ssl-tls-sni-vpngate/

Additional academic / crypto work available on request.

Independent systems-focused software engineer, working in IT since the mid-1990s, with strong background in networking, security, and low-level infrastructure.

I design, build, and operate my own production-grade networked applications end-to-end: VPN/proxy systems (OpenVPN, WireGuard, HTTP/SOCKS, TLS/SNI, domain-fronting), mobile networking stacks, and backend services under real-world ISP and platform constraints, used by real users worldwide: https://sourceforge.net/projects/vpn-4g-ssl-tls-sni-vpngate/

I’ve implemented cryptographic algorithms from scratch for validation, and use well-established crypto libraries in production with a clear understanding of their guarantees and failure modes.

Comfortable with deep debugging, modifying large open-source tunneling codebases, and fully remote, self-directed work.

I have over a decade of experience in development and several years in leadership as well. I'm particularly fond of start-ups, and I like to build things in my spare time.

Recently, in my free time, I've been delving into vibe coding with Claude Code. A couple of my results thus far are here:

https://data-atlas.net - A simple JSON Schema-based form builder https://afteractions.net - A collaborative retrospective tool for agile teams

Among other AI projects I undertake.

I am a Senior Engineer looking to join a high-trust, fast-moving startup.

My primary strength is Backend Architecture and Data Engineering (ETL, performance optimization). I am looking to join as a backend engineer first, but as I get settled and familiar with the codebase, I want to expand my scope to contribute to the Frontend and AI side of the product.

I thrive in early-stage environments where I can solve ambiguous problems and ship quickly.

Hi, I’m Harshit. I have worked as a full-stack engineer for the past five years where I have built consumer-facing features, lead teams, and helped shape the tech culture of a small startup.

Apart from my experience in full-stack web development, I am also interested in AI and databases. I have made some recent contributions to LangChain and LangGraph.

I would be more than happy to work anywhere in the stack and in any domain. Looking for roles with high ownership, strong engineering culture, and meaningful technical depth.
