Hi, I'm a backend-focused generalist software engineer with over 10 years of experience. My expertise is in Go and Python backend development, as well as JavaScript frontend development. I have a strong experience in technical leadership and driving projects from inception to completion.

I've founded multiple business, so I also have experience that comes from wearing many hats like Product Management, UI/UX Design, Customer Success and QA.

I'm looking for a remote opportunity, either full-time or part-time, but I'm also open to relocation (especially Southeast and East Asia).

If you'd like to see my work, check out https://gitfront.io. I wrote the frontend, backend and did the design.

--- Hey! I'm an infrastructure engineer that is looking to make a change into web development or Kubernetes. Both of those are things I've picked up in my home lab to learn and I'm also a fan of self-hosting my own cloud services. I also picked up blogging last year and will occasionally write about things I'm working on over there.

About me: Nice to meet you! My name is Cristian. Let me tell you why I think I’d be a great addition to your team. I have over 15 years of experience with Ruby. The highlight of my career is probably the decade I have spent at Zendesk, where I am one of the technical leaders of Support, their flagship product, as a Group Tech Lead and Senior Staff Software Engineer. My main focus is scaling the ticketing system and making sure it can handle massive workloads efficiently. That experience turned me into a bit of a Rails performance nerd—so much so that I wrote a book about it, Rails Scales!, published by Pragmatic Bookshelf (https://pragprog.com/titles/cprpo/rails-scales/). I’ve also had the chance to share my insights at conferences like RailsConf, EuRuKo, and RubyKaigi. You can check my talks in my profile in RubyVideo (https://www.rubyevents.org/speakers/cristian-planas).

I'm a Senior Full Stack Engineer with 7+ years of experience. I love working with JavaScript, React, and Node. I worked extensively in PHP Laravel for 2 years. I've worked at various companies as a Full Stack Engineer, so I've also dabbled in Java and Python. I am passionate about mentorship and code review as I see those as great ways to help the teams I'm on improve.
