SEEKING WORK | USA | Remote | On-Prem and Cloud Infrastructure

LOCATION: Raleigh, NC

Remote: Yes

Willing to relocate: No

Greetings everyone. My name is Ron Kelley, and my passion lies in infrastructure deployment and support. I am looking to partner with a team that needs part-time (on-demand) infrastructure and server support including automation, configuration/management, scripting, firewalls, etc. References available as needed.

My focus is to help offload some of your repetitive/daily burdens so you can focus on "real" work. Give me a shout if you are struggling to keep up with the your deployment/support activities or just need some part-time help with product support.

  Technologies:
    - Infrastructure (on-prem, cloud, networking, storage, virtualization, etc)
    - Virtualization (Docker, LXD, VMware)
    - Automation (Ansible, Bash, Python)
    - Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu)
    - Firewalls (pfSense, OpenVPN, Wireguard)
    - Storage systems (ZFS, BTRFS, on-prem/off-prem backup services)
    - Software (Postgresql, MySQL, LibreNMS, pghero, Redis)

  About me:
  - "Grey beard" veteran skilled in deploying and managing on-prem and cloud-based architectures.
  - Deep knowledge in networking, storage, virtualization, firewalls, VPNs, system monitoring, etc.
  - Hard skills - Ansible, Python, Bash, Linux (Debian/RHEL), IPMI/iDRAC, pfSense, BTRFS/ZFS

  About you:
  - Don't have the budget to hire a full-time engineer but need someone to help with daily tasks
  - Need a partner that can help get your architecture production ready (network/security best practices, etc)
  - Have an on-prem or cloud system that needs some love and care but you just can't find the time
  - Have questions about on-prem or cloud hosting technologies and need an outside point of view
