I'm an experienced senior engineer, currently in Hong Kong but relocating to the UK this month, looking for work starting early April, either fully remote or hybrid accessible from Leeds. In my last 3 jobs, I've worked for a pan-Asian logistics start-up as the 'code owner' of the core backend engine, a large European bank as the senior engineer in an informal devops team building internal tools to modernise operations, and freelance building sites for an accounting firm. In the past I've worked on websites/APIs, Android apps, the Unix kernel, and also spent a while working in a bra factory...

It's a bit of a cliche, but when asked I say I'm looking to work on a good problem, with good people, using good tech. Beyond that - I'm flexible!

Graduating this May with a bachelor's in Computer Science and Linguistics from UNC Chapel Hill. With three internships (SRE, networking, infosec) under my belt, I'm ready to make an immediate impact on your team. Over half of my work experience has been remote, so I am a proven performer in the WFH setting. I'm a self-starter and take the initiative to find ways to contribute--I was offered my current role after helping my team debug a rollout during downtime at my prior department.

My favorite past project was a script to tunnel IP packets over XBee 900MHz packet radios, making the longer-than-WiFi range usable with existing HTTP APIs or even an SSH session. My biggest accomplishment at work has been discovering a vulnerability in an internal app that allowed regular users to change their email to any unused address across all the university's subdomains.

I'm interested in security, linux/infra/networking/ops, and backend roles. I also have a knack for the business and compliance side of software, and I have a bit of hardware/µC experience as well.
