About:

I built Fiscal AI, a financial expense analysis, transaction classification, expenditure forecast/prediction and ai assistant tool powered by machine learning models and LLMs. You can see a short demo here https://supercut.ai/share/nickson-langat/lKLxTSQsdv79scuWAy2...

I also built Codetail, a platform that helps developers improve their coding skills by providing personalized solutions and practice problems. It showcases my ability to design and implement complex features such as user authentication, problem-solving interfaces, and AI-driven recommendations. You can explore the project https://codetail.nicklangat.com

I also built Invoisce, a modern invoicing platform that simplifies billing for businesses and freelancers. The platform offers features like automated invoice scheduling, bulk invoice generation, and email integration for direct client communication. Users can choose from customizable invoice templates, attach supporting documents, and generate secure shareable links for easy client access. Invoisce is designed to streamline the invoicing process, reducing manual work and improving efficiency for businesses of all sizes. You can explore the project https://invoisce.nicklangat.com

I thrive on building impactful, user-centric applications and am always eager to take on new challenges. If you're looking for an engineer who can deliver high-quality solutions, let’s connect. I'd love to discuss how I can contribute to your team.

Currently building data analytics platform for agricultural customers; previously connectivity/control/update for IoT devices. I think I'm good at understanding and adapting to a new business domain, and enjoy that learning opportunity. I believe we build better software with a better understanding of the context it operates in.

Have done & can do full-stack work (helped current company grow from three engineers and through acquisition) but lean towards backend/infrastructure in expertise. Most recently platform technical lead (IC).

MEng EE & CS blend. (No professional EE experience, but somewhat maintained as a hobby.) 8y post-intern experience in web software.

Looking for something new to sink my teeth into in an organisation with room to grow. Remote opportunities only please, and that I'm eligible for residing in the UK & as a British citizen, though I'm perfectly willing to travel for particular events/big meetings. Cheers!

Software Engineer with 10 years of experience. I have been doing data work for the past 7 years. Both real-time stream processing and batch processing. I've shipped backend services scaling to hundreds of nodes. Data pipelines handling tens of terabytes per day. My work domain is in financial engineering; think billing, reporting, liability calculation, tax; systems handling upwards of a $100M per year. Previously, I worked on analytics and high-performance WebGL apps before that.

HN account and e-mail are throwaways.

I am an experienced freelancer with 38 years in IT. Hands-on experience has gifted me a deep understanding of business processes, IT security, software design and development, and DevOps. I literally wrote the textbook on hardware https://lastviking.eu/maskinvare_og_operativsystemer.html used in Norway to educate IT technicians and other IT professionals.

I work full-time at my own company in the EU. This makes it straightforward to invoice your company, anywhere in the world, for services I provide.

I have state-of-the-art hardware to take on any work with Linux, Android, Windows 11, macOS and iOS and local LLM agents - and experience with all of it - including cross-platform projects. In addition, I have a flexible lab that can simulate cloud workloads.

My primary programming language is C++20. I also use other languages frequently.
