Hello, I'm David and have 20 years of professional experience including entrepreneurship (three time founder), machine learning/AI, scientific computing, and software development. I've worked at Apple, ARM, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, MITRE, Sunlight Labs, and many Silicon Valley startups. I have degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering (BS), Liberal Arts (BA), and Public Policy (Masters). I've done ML and RL coursework with Georgia Tech's OMSCS program.

I'm open to full time and contracting roles. For contracting, I'm willing to lower my rate for work related to AI alignment/safety, scientific/academic research, and public-benefit projects such as government and not-for-profits.

Fields: Fullstack, Backend, Frontend, AI, Machine Learning

I am a full stack software developer with six years of experience delivering major features for ML applications in the ITSM industry. As part of a small engineering team at my last role, I was expected to exercise full ownership of the various features I was working on, from design all the way to implementation and maintenance. In addition, I was also recruited to be a member of the company's ML research team, where I gained the ability to quickly adopt and learn new tech, frameworks, and libraries in order to stay on the cutting-edge of AI technology. I have worked on everything from brand new greenfield projects to decade old legacy software and have made it a personal philosophy to never leave a codebase worse than I found it.

I am looking for either a general full-stack or ML-focused developer role.

I'm a self taught software engineer who has built products for startups from whiteboard to production. I'm looking for roles where I can learn new things and build cool products. I thrive in builder roles where I am given the ability to fully own large projects.
