Staff Software Engineer (E6) @ Meta chasing a unicorn: part-time remote W2 employment with excellent PPO health insurance.

I have met my FIRE goals except for one thing: health insurance. After extensive research I have concluded that the options available to me as an individual just plain suck and are hardly worth pursuing.

I'm pretty damn good, also: handsome, witty, and humble. While my part-time output will exceed that of a median full-time employee in both quality and quantity, I don't have enough clout at Meta to pull off sanctioned part-time.

I excel at taking a holistic view of and improving existing backend and infra systems.

I would work remotely from the US Central timezone and am authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Seeking part-time (16-20h/wk) remote (no travel or hybrid) W2 (no 1099 or contract-to-hire) employment with a single (exclusive) employer (no crypto/web3) only.

I like to say that I have 5 years experience in everything, over the last 35 years, but two of my last three jobs have involved modernizing old codebases, mostly in perl, moving them to modern languages and the cloud, with a short stint in SRE in the middle. I'd love to find another job doing that, or possibly someone who isn't very far along in their DevOps journey, where I can add a lot of value quickly.
