#33Appear is on a mission to fix the broken product design process for rich AR experiences. We’re starting an ambitious journey to create next-generation tools to design experiences for the metaverse. Our vision is to free the curiosity of designers from limitations of other platforms and static 2D frames and ultimately enable a design process that produces high quality and engaging XR experiences.
We are looking for a founding engineer that will grow the core product and assemble one of the main technical teams. Someone that is interested in prototyping as well as setting up a strong technical foundation.
As a founding engineer your expertise will be invaluable in shaping both the technology and experience of the tools we are developing.
In-depth understanding of Unity internals and examples of past XR experience are the key technical requirements. Unity’s flavor of C# will be the main programming language. Some examples of technical challenges that will be tackled are: a coherent user interface foundation, 3D environment simulation and logic systems.

#36We do live captions for all Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing folks to make every aspect of their lives accessible. This is done as a combination of AI (keywords: diarization, speaker separation, denoising) and Human/AI collaboration for when that extra bit of accuracy is required, like in lectures or important meetings.
We raised Series A this year and are growing the engineering team a lot right now.
I do the AI Engineering Management, got a computer vision/CS background myself, so feel free to ask any questions. :)
US hiring:
* Senior Backend Engineer (mainly Node, TS, AWS, mongo, knowing python would be great)
* Android Engineer (our current dev asked me to clarify that this will be kotlin & jetpack based)
* Head of Engineering
* Principal product designer
France:
* 2x Backend Engineer (working in/with the AI team, but don't worry if you don't know the AI parts, this is classic backend work in NodeJs and python)
* MLOps engineer (working with the researchers to deploy, monitor, and optimize new and existing models. this could be a great green-field experience IMHO!)
* 2x M2 internship (on-device diarization and active learning for diarization)
Just to be clear since this has come up before, for the FR positions you need to be located in France, not anywhere else in Europe.
You can reach me at daan@ by mail, or just comment here.
Edited to clarify tech.

Aha! is profitable, you can work from anywhere in North or South America, and we offer excellent benefits. We use our own product to manage our work (which is especially rewarding) and we deploy continuously.
Our entire team has always been 100% remote - in North American timezones so we can collaborate during the work day.
