Location: Canada

Remote: Only

Willing to relocate: No

Technologies: Various solvers (CPLEX, Gurobi, Or-Tools, etc.), Python, C++, Bash, Linux, and others

Résumé/CV: https://github.com/PhilippeOlivier/curriculum-vitae/blob/mas...

Email: See CV

I have a PhD in optimization / operations research. I'm the father of four young children, so I'm looking for flexible/remote part-time work, and/or contract work. I can work between 20 and 30 hours a week (this varies depending on whether kids get sick, etc).

My specializations revolve around optimization and operations research. You can give me a real-world problem and I can translate it into a mathematical model that can be solved (often optimally) via integer programming, constraint programming, or various forms of metaheuristics. I could manage my way around new solvers and programming languages if the project required it.

I'm currently working on a daily fantasy sports (DFS) solver as a personal project. Taking as input the predictions/requirements of a user, this solver can generate optimal lineups for multi-entry tourneys. It is, as far as I am aware, the only DFS solver that can generate provably optimal sets of lineups for multi-entry DFS tourneys.

Hey! After 4 years in technical consultancy working with enterprise scale clients, I am looking for a move away from consultancy into a role where I can take ownership of my work over a longer period of time. I see myself primarily as a cloud-native engineer and the majority in my experience would typically fall under the DevOps/platform engineering banner. However the variety of opportunity I have had in my current role has helped me develop as a generalist and I have experience with AWS, Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Go and some light web development (React & Vue 3). As such I consider myself flexible and am open to tacking any technical challenges!

Please get in touch if you'd like to have a chat - I'm more than happy to share my LinkedIn & CV privately.

I've been an IC, tech lead, manager, and founder doing frontend/backend/ops-y stuff in data and developer tool companies for the last 10 years. Worked for a series A startup, Oracle, and smaller companies.

Spent the last year build open-source data tools for developers (github.com/multiprocessio) up to 5,000+ cumulative stars, 8,000+ downloads, ~300 monthly users, and over 10 posts on the front of HN in the last 8 months. See https://multiprocess.io/blog and https://notes.eatonphil.com.

I'm up for chatting about management and IC positions (and chatting with one group about joining as a cofounder). Just looking for something interesting and challenging. :)

Contract or part-time

Location: Africa

Remote: yes

Willing to relocate: yes, to any location in Africa, where i can get the necessary permission to live and work.

Technologies: Linux, Fullstack, System Administration.

Résumé/CV: on request (software development, CTO, mentoring, training, fluent in English and German)

Like a recent Ask HN: Recommend employers with positive social impact I am looking for similar work. I am a European software developer who has lived and worked on four continents. Now it's time to move on and so i am looking to relocate to Africa.

While i could find a job elsewhere i believe that the experience living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives me a better understanding of the needs of the location i am serving. Whether it is through direct contact with clients and users or just by being part of a local community and learning about the reality of living there.

I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing software development, support and training and mentoring adults and students, as well as working on educational projects, and i am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a project.

Willing to relocate: Maybe (depends on the country and the nature of the project)

Technologies: Scala, Python, Java, Erlang/Elixir, Javascript, C++

Résumé/CV: https://reactivity.ai/cv/at2022.pdf

Email: at@reactivity.ai

A consultant-level full stack software engineer with a background in quant finance (both traditional and crypto), distributed computing and simulations. I am interested in research-intensive projects and companies who are doing something that never has been done before. I am particularly interested in computational physics / CFD simulations, quantum computing (photonic QC in particular) and semantic analysis / natural language processing.

Most recently I was working with the University of Geneva and CERN to build a complex geospatial planet-scale COVID spreading simulation. Before that, I have built a Monte Carlo simulation platform for US equity markets. I am very open for other interesting areas, of course.

PhD Philosophy researcher & software developer from Argentina, with a strong background in mathematical logic.
