I'm a DevOps/SRE Freelancer with a background as a Software Engineer and Penetration Tester with more than 7 years experience. I'm experienced in architecting new infrastructure from scratch but also work embedded in existing Projects and DevOps Teams.Re: Ask HN: Freelancer? Seeking freelancer? (March 2021)
#34Hi! I'm Andy. I primarily do embedded- and desktop-applications programming and electronics and have about ten years of experience, but I'm open to all kinds of things. I'm based in Leipzig, Germany, and willing to temporarily relocate if necessary.
I'm straightforward and direct, and pretty good at finding solutions. I prefer coding in C, with C++ being a close runner-up, but I also have extensive experience in LabVIEW, and have otherwise dabbled a bit in Java and PHP, Javascript, CSS and HTML. I speak English as a native language, with (business-fluent) German as a second language, learned a bit of French in school and picked up Bahasa from growing up in Malaysia.
I started my career dropping out of university into a small engineering company that runs endurance test-rigs for the automobile industry. I started freelancing for my former employer about four years ago, and am now looking to expand. As such, it's probably no secret that I'm new to offering my services to a wider public.
Owing to the trajectory of my career, most of my experience in hardware concerns the design, use and build of PCBs, switchboards and electrical cabinets for both industrial automation and automobile-electronics, as well as the control and data acquisition of test-rigs on PCs, but I'm also confident in adapting this knowledge and experience into other areas.
I'm the author of the ZaidaScope oscilloscope-program, which is an open-source native Windows-application that uses an Arduino as an ADC-converter. It possibly stands out among the dozen or so Arduino oscilloscope-programs as squeezing the most out of the AT328P-chip (it's bottlenecked by a 2Mbps serial baud-rate): https://github.com/ZaidaTek/ZaidaScope https://www.hackster.io/zaidatek/c774f5
More code I've written can be found at my private repository, and that of my company: https://github.com/ariebesehl/ https://github.com/ZaidaTek/
My negotiable rate is 70€/h.
If you're interested, you can contact me at a.riebesehl@gmail.com and I will be glad to provide you with a copy of my CV.

I specialize in developing augmented reality iOS apps. Several of my apps were handpicked and featured worldwide by Apple. I developed an iOS open-source WebXR browser with Mozilla. I've built augmented reality, music, ecommerce, social, gaming, messaging, lending, consumer, enterprise video conferencing, and location-based products. I am a startup founder, native iOS developer, and growth/marketing expert.
