Ask HN: Do you believe in a coding school without teachers?

I'm a student of the first batch at Holberton School and I loved learning with that approach. I thought it was effective at offering students a strong understanding of computer languages, and more closely resembles the type of learning one has do in a work setting. Also, I think it helps develop the skills relevant to being a life-long learner! :-)

I've almost finished 42 french cursus, and I have to say here that's the best part of my life, i've learned with much fun algorythms, make path findings, how to optimize code, enjoying asmin sys things as well as IOS or android things, build my own shell in C calling syscall and builtins, make ;y own secured libc, learn infography, made some interactives fractals, rasterisation, raycasting, how to dev shaders, to parse blender-made obj in pure C, made some corewar championships, coded a VM gameboy (emulator) parsin ROM and initing registers, rebuild my own kernel, make a linear regression program, learned about IA things, developped my own deamon, make some socket-link on client/server architectures, multiplayers game, discovered ocaml, python, C, C++, make my own 3D engine, security things as buffer overflow and format string bug binary exploitation, system vulnerabilities, cryptography things, made a turing machine, and many more things i've discovered by learning to learn. i'm now hired at Sorbonne as ingeneer, continuing to come at school to help my new peers, and I LIKE HOW I ROCKED MY LIFE IN THREE YEARS !
